Good morning all.

First, I don't expect you to just accept this truth. This might have been something you were born into and if you're an adult, it means you've been believing this for decades. Hence it will be difficult for you to accept.

There are some that have been having doubts on this issue and are sitting on the wall. Big pastors use this so called language. They call it language of the spirit.
Many say its a secret language that the devil cannot understand. That's not true. The devil can understand any language and if you're speaking to God and he hears, what can he do? Nothing.

If this language is a gift of the spirit, then why are people learning it. Let's not mention churches. I have a friend that was learning to speak in tongues and I just wonder.

Some even think if they can't speak in tongues, then they are not Christian enough. Its time to set yourself free.
The Bible says You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. What is the truth? God's word is the truth. John 17:17

What does it mean to speak in tongues?

Christianity is not complicated. Some have made it complicated so they can place themselves above you. So they can seem to be more closer to God than you. So that you can revered them.

Speaking in tongues simply means speaking in different languages.
Its as simple as that. And is it a gift? Yes! It is. We have people that can speak 10 different languages and some can hardly learn 2. Many of us can't even speak our mother tongue. See? Mother's tongue means your native language.

Tongues means Languages.

Now let's dive into the Bible. Let's consider the first time ever in the Bible that people spoke in tongues. We will see the difference between what is in the Bible and what is done today.
Rah tah tah ka-yah grin grin grin

Act 2:1-4
1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Now let see verses 5 &6
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

When those in the upper room started speaking in different tongues, what happened? People from every nation at Jerusalem were surprised, why? Because everyone of them could hear the disciples speaking their languages. People actually understood all the tongues the disciples were speaking in.
The tongues or languages were even listed in the Bible.

Now let's see verses 7 to 12
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. 12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

These are human tongues. People, humans did understood these tongues. Who understands the gibberish spoken today?

Now, why did God performed this miracle? He did it so that many can hear, learn and understand the gospel in their own mother's tongue. God does not perform useless miracles. Just as Jesus doesn't perform miracles just to show off.

Further apostle Paul clarify this speaking in tongues.

1 Corinthians 14: 27,28
27 If any man speaketh in a tongue, let it be by two, or at the most three, and that in turn; and let one interpret: 28 but if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

So, you can see for yourself. What they call speaking in tongues today is a lie.

Thank you.

I was in a church last Sunday and I heard the guy leading prayers praying in 'tongues' saying, " omah lay, omah lay". That sounds like a new music act and I just walked out of that church.
