You can now see that the problem of this country is not only from the government. Gtb printing banner of 20k to give prize of 10k. Why not give the person 30k and leave showmanship?

Na wa ooo a whole GTB can only afford to give d BEST GRADUATING STUDENT 10K

No wonder kids don't want to read any more, when there's no value attached to education anymore

10k can hardly pay your T-fare back and forth to college.

600 years for the banner and 600 years for GTB.

That said, it's good to be grateful. As poor a sample of philanthropy as this is, 10k could still be a lifesaver to some.

This banner screams "I have no shame."

So a whole bank is proudly giving a best graduating student 10k after all the money they stolen in the name of bank charges?

Kudos Op, this is a food for thought. The present generation of "hyping " has made many blind to reason. They are more concerned of their brand name than the social responsibility of really helping the less privileged and those in need.

Someone up there said GTB favours ashawo competition more than education, I laughed at his or her ignorance because he doesn't know how businesses operate. GTB is a profit making entity hence they invest in business that generate high revenue to them. Investment in education will not generate much because someone else would reap the benefits. Aside this, the so called ashawo competition is loved by many Nigerians so you don't expect GTB to throw their money on things that might not be beneficial to them.
Have you wondered why educational programs lack sponsorship? Viewership has been a limiting factor that had mitigated this problem. MTN started a spelling competition for your young kids, how many followed such game? Sample opinions, go through the phones of most Nigerian youths to see what they watch or listen to. You would be surprised that they rarely pay attention to education except for few

On a closer look at the banner, the money is being paid by the Medical Students Association UNN branch, not the bank.
