Why President Buhari Is Afraid To Remove The Service Chiefs. by Naijboy: 8:42am On Dec 02, 2020
The present Service Chiefs have been in service for six years now. They really tried their best to restore sanity in the army, fight Boko Haram terrorists. But it seems that their best days are over from the look of things happening now. There is increase in deaths as a result of insecurity in the country. Boko haram terrorist are having a field day killing innocent Nigerians and the army as well. The recent is the killing of 43 rice farmers at Zabarmari in the Jere Local Government Area of Borno State. This has sparked fresh call for the sacking of the country’s service chiefs by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.). But Buhari remain adamant that they must continue in office.

But what Nigerians do not know is that Buhari is afraid for his life. He does not want the repetition of the 1985 coup that toppled his Government. As the saying goes "the devil you know is better than the angel you do not know'' Buhari knows and trusted this men and nothing will make him change his mind about them as long as he believed that they will never overthrow his Government

Useless post, unlike 1985 he has the backing of the constitution by winning an election.

I am very certain that there is indeed something terrible, perhaps even treasonous, that the service chiefs know and their silence/cooperation has been bought with permanent retention as service chiefs without oversight/interference at least for as long as the mannequin remains president.

Believe me, Buhari has no single fear about coup. To start with, it's not even military service chiefs that execute coups, neither do they have the power to prevent one. It's young middle level officers.

Was Buhari also afraid of coup by not changing any of his ministers in first term? The reason is simply incompetency.

Well coups have never been plotted by service choefs. Its often the rank and file officers from colonels and below who carry out coups historically

Had Gen. Ihejirika spend 4 years in that position, BokoHaram will be gone.
