Akpabio Classic Championship winnings payment is the main reason for the abrupt action.

All the players from Akwa Ibom State got paid their winnings.
All International players got paid, except 1 Kenyan, I think.

Lower rungs players have been paid only about 2 months ago.

However, the chunky sums remained unpaid.
Wellington Jighere $5,000
Tuoyo Mayuku #900,000
Tunde Oduwole
Eta Karo
Since 2017 these guys have been begging for their prizes to be redeemed. Yet, nothing concrete is coming forth. This is quite frustrating.

With Covid 19, Scrabble has grounded to a dead stop. No new tournaments are coming up. The ones announced have been terminated. So, these guys are penniless, literally.

Nigeria keep burning her best hands, she keeps burying her best minds. It is unfortunate that we Nigerians help Nigeria to truncate dreams.

Akwa Ibom Scrabble Club, wait, we are coming.
Names will start flying.
We will call you out, individually.
If it is to sponsor certain "specie" to Dubia for heavy shopping spree after sexual gratification campaigns they will do it with immediate alacrity.

Who told you he doesn't have a Scrabble product?

How many of your own "products" are giving you earnings?

Even Chess grandmasters with training contracts and endorsements are struggling financially. You, armchair analyst that you are, think they are doing something wrong when they are just in a field that's not so easy to monetize

As CEO of Africa Education and Leadership organization, I look for people like these to manage and channel their career in the right direction that would benefit humanity. Although a good academic grade is essential, people with Wellington's profile don't need to succeed in life. He is already exceptional talent. Harvard and other ivy-leagues would need him to tell them the story that has made him so successful in his trade. Hey guy, connect him with me at satz5000@yahoo.com if you find him. I would be financially responsible for his journey to business or political greatness.

He should initiate legal action to collect his money winnings too if he has the evidence. This should be way more than $5000 because of interest on investment and emotional abuse. A good start is to sue for $100,000 each. It is even important for business school to be aware you have the steel to fight injustice.

I keep saying it that if anyone has his way let the person leave this shithole. Nigerian is not getting better neither will Nigeria be better, not even in 200 years to come.

Talking about unpaid prizes, two notable ones come to mind:
1) African Scrabble Championship, Accra 2010: $5,000 (five thousand US Dollars) left unpaid after ten years.

2) Godswill Akpabio International Scrabble Classics 2017: Another $5,000 (five thousand US Dollars) left unpaid three years and counting.

He mentioned Africa and Akpabio sponsored competition, you all are crying this government. Lazy youth
