The Global Terrorism Index (GTI) report for the year 2020 was published on Wednesday, November 25, revealing the impacts of terrorism across the globe, including Nigeria.

1. The Gambia
2. Timor-Leste
3. Togo
4. Turkmenistan
5. United Arab Emirates

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the 2020 GTI report indicates Nigeria retained its position as the third most impacted country in the world by terrorism. Nigerians have become terrified as nowhere is safe - Sultan-led group laments, sends strong message to Buhari following the rise in the number of casualties from Boko Haram attacks in the northeast, Nigeria falls behind Afghanistan and Iraq. The report also revealed that total deaths from terrorism in Nigeria fell to 1,245 in 2019, a 39 per cent decline, making it the lowest in the country since 2011. But, as terrorism declines in the country, banditry is spiralling out of control, especially in northern Nigeria.

The 2019 edition of the GTI indicated herders (better known as armed bandits) killed more Nigerians in 2018 than Boko Haram insurgents.
