Support The Atheist society Nigeria lawsuit against the church if you have the funds. When makes it up to the supreme court it will force the government at all levels to become more secular. The Akwa Ibom state government is filled with religious zealots so this rational argument will be ignored. https://www.paypal.com/donate?token=C1OqC7SP4z_SCSb9QIQioBDPicuBTMNMenAVDHSy-qn1nSePSmqO_jY9TbLbuHHB1YBARM6YT6_wa3PS 1 Like

At 45.2%, Akwa Ibom State has the second-highest unemployment rate in the country according to the National Bureau of Statistics.Ironically, Akwa Ibom happens to be the largest oil producing state which translates to highest derivation fund. But N6.7b for worship center? That's way too much on the high side. |

God bless you for this beautiful piece. I brought the attention of some guys to the alarming unemployment rate in A/Ibom and Ebonyi some weeks ago, but they won't understand. 1 Like |

Very soon, the newly designated oil and gas free trade zone is expected to start bubbling with activities. I guess we are going to wait for the Yorubas and Igbos to take all the jobs so that we can start rueing, rumbling, and whining. That's a likely scenario considering the states recent history. The state assembly tried to pass a quota law in 2018. The bill was never signed into law by the governor. The government should be focused on improving labor force to take advantage of employment opportunities currently and in the future. The church is wasteful and unconstitutional.

Stop seeing things from the shadows. Big cathedrals are tourists attractions. |

MadamExcellency: Stop ignoring the fact it's a wasteful projects when you consider opportunity cost and arguably unconstitutional. Cathedrals arent huge tourist attractions and wont generate that much tax revenue. Even in France the biggest tourist attractions are thing like Disney, The Eiffel tower and their many museums. Did Dubai become a huge tourist destination by building huge mosques? |
