Affectionate brotherly kindness and love towards all cannot be made manifest by one’s power nor might but by the Spirit of God through Christ. All you need to do is to submit/yield to His Holy Spirit perfect working in you through Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Thessalonians 3:1 Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;

Apostle Paul writers how he and the brethren could no longer endure. The concern they had for the brethren in Christ in the church of a Thessalonica because of their persecutions.
This is admirable, showing genuine concern for the faith of the brethren around us, we should be able to related with this, some might be persecuted, some others afflicted, but regardless of whatsoever it is, we should be there for one another in Christ, we should be concerned, such cannot be done by our will but as we yield to the Holy Spirit of God through Christ.

➖SEEKING TO ESTABLISH AND ENCOURAGE THE BRETHREN IN CHRIST BEFORE GOD CONCERNING THEIR FAITH.

1 Thessalonians 3:2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

Timothy was then sent to establish and comfort them concerning their faith.
By yielding to the Holy Spirit, we should seek to establish and encourage in Christ before the sight of God our brethren who are persecuted, suffering, afflicted or whatsoever they are going through.

Know this, that anyone that desires to live godly in Christ Jesus shall be persecuted(2 Tim 3:12). But do not fret , rather in the hope of your Salvation from God through Christ Jesus, be patient in tribulation, bless those who persecute you and continue steadfastly in prayer(Rom 12:12,14).

I’m fully persuaded that not only that there is nothing that can separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord but that the sufferings of the present time is not WORTHY to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us in Christ(Rom 8:39, 18).

(2)GLADNESS IN THE FAITH AND LOVE OF THE BRETHREN IN CHRIST DESPITE PERSECUTIONS AND TEMPTATIONS.

Knowing that we are to be persecuted, some of us already being persecuted, some to be, regardless, we should never forget to yield to the Holy Spirit of God through Christ Jesus our Lord, it is by the Spirit of the Lord that we are able to persevere, be patient, hope in Christ, not our own will nor power nor might.
We will look at three things now:

1 Thessalonians 3:4 For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

Apostle Paul and the brethren already made it clear that they would be persecuted, they using themselves as example toward the church at Thessalonica, exhorting them in verse 3 not to be shaken by their afflictions in Christ Jesus our Lord.

➖PREEMPTIVE MEASURES TO CHECK UP ON THE FAITH OF THE BRETHREN IN CHRIST.

1 Thessalonians 3:5 For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

Apostle Paul wanted to ascertain the current status of the faith in the church of Thessalonica to see if it is shaken or steadfast.
We should imitate this, to check up on that brother or that sister who you know has been going through a tough time, just to know if that brother or sister is still steadfast, not just to also know but to encourage in Christ.

The happiness of Apostle Paul and the brethren in the steadfastness of their faith and love in Christ Jesus at the church in Thessalonica, not just that alone but they greatly desiring to see Apostle Paul and the brethren and they likewise.

Such happiness does not come by the will of man nor the power nor might but rather when one is led by the Holy Spirit of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

When one is concerned about the steadfastness of the faith of the brethren in Christ Jesus amidst persecutions, it brings great comfort to those who are genuinely concerned.
Again such brotherly kindness, love even comfort is by the Spirit of God through Christ Jesus by God’s grace. It is important to yield to the Holy Spirit in Christ who changes the believer.

➖REJOICING IN THE STEADFASTNESS OF THE BRETHREN’S FAITH BY CHRIST AND EARNEST DESIRING TO SEE THEM WITH PERFECT FAITH IN CHRIST.

1 Thessalonians 3:8 For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 3:9 For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;

Apostle Paul and the brethren now being comforted now say that they live if the brethren at the Church of Thessalonica standfast in the Lord, we can relate with this, even then such joy is not limited to just one particular group of people but to all.
Christ Jesus is the one who strengthens us in the faith(Phil 4:13), He is our foundation, without Him, we can do nothing. It is important to seek to be rooted and built up in Christ Jesus our Lord(Col 2:5-7).
