Pounded yam (Iyán) is considered as the king of all foods because of its many outstanding characteristics ranging from how it’s been prepared to the palatable & pleasurable feeling it gives when consumed hence the popular saying “Iyán ni ọba oúnjẹ”. Pounded yam being a common food among the Yorubas and popularly called Iyán in the Yoruba language is a whitish/creamy looking food gotten from pounding of yam, the delicacy is a gooey dough-like textured food which is conventionally prepared by pounding/beating the boiled yams in a mortal with a pestle. why did you do a detailed analysis of pounded yam and forgot it's twin,nsala white soup with wild river caught catfish,and options of cow tozo,old layer or goat meat,you can never go wrong especially with the cow tozo collabo.

Lol, Very true boss. That was why I captured it in óther forms of soup' so as to prevent the write-up from being bored. Honestly speaking pounded yam can never go wrong with anything. I'm looking forward to trying this delicacy with all forms of soup across Africa. Our heritage, Our pride.
