Vacancy: Recruiting an Accountant for a HSE Firm in Lekki

Our client is a major player in the HSE space and are looking to take on an Accountant at their Lagos office.

Job Location: Lekki, Lagos.


Job Overview:

Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Reports organization's finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

Your key role includes but is not limited to:

❖ Performed general accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines

❖ Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information

❖ Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports

❖ Preparation, analysis and verification of accounting records, financial statements, and reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to reporting and procedural standards

❖ Generated financial statements and facilitated account closing procedures each month

❖ Audit, process and pay vendor invoices in an accurate and timely manner

❖ Reconcile invoices to purchase orders and bill customers

❖ Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded

❖ Update accounts receivable and issue invoices

❖ Reconciliation of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned

❖ Collect, categorize, calculate, verify, and update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed

❖ Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports

❖ Preparation of monthly/yearly closings, Tax Filings, PAYE, Pension and other obligated regulation

❖ Monitor and analyze budget variances, budget development and financial forecasting

❖ Record and process employee expense reports and reconcile credit card statements

❖ Coordinate audits in accordance with internal and external procedure

❖ Other assigned tasks



Requirements:

❖ Degree in Accounting or related fields

❖ ACA, ACCA or any acknowledged professional accounting certifications

❖ 2-3 years of relevant experience preferably from either Manufacturing / Engineering / Servicing or Heavy Industries

❖ Preferably living within the Island (Lekki - Ajah axes)

❖ Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles

❖ Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

❖ Excellent accounting software user and administration skills

❖ Accuracy and attention to detail
