Public schools in Benue are almost non existent. Ortom doesn't pay teachers, he doesn't pay pensioners and for that reason, most of their children can no longer afford private schools

They didn't say one of the poorest. It's the Agriculture that cause the drop out. Parents prefer their children in farm after sending the elder ones to school without job.

Benue is not one of the poorest state in Nigeria. Google can help you know this.

A state destroyed by both the combined force of cult confraternities and herdsmen, people don't have money to send their children to school, many people from Benue are here in Abuja seeking for a better life because they can't get it in Benue. Benue and Kogi are just disappointments

i hope you pursue what you love in 2021, supported and surrounded by people who are so happy to have you in their lives. i hope you realize that we grow from failure, and that the lessons you learn will benefit you so much. those bumps along the roads, the sad days, the doubting, things not turning out just the way you imagined they would - they will happen, and it will be okay. you’ll face it, you’ll survive, grow, and you’ll make a wonderful year for yourself, regardless, or indeed because of that.

Thanks for this...

If they are giving award for worst governor in nigeria, ikpeazu of abia state, ortom of benue state and yeye bello of kogi state would definately be norminated for the award, ikpeazu would win the award on head to head or home advantage, ortom would lose on goal difference but all three would be on same point. Imagin ikpeazu president, yeye bello vice president, wike senate president and ortom speaker. u go just sleep wake up hear say them don sell nigeria.

Confraternity is what is destroying benue state nothing else. Those of us that live and stay in makurdi, north bank to be precise if you are not a member of any cult group them no born you well to stay outside by 8pm, you can't go to club or party as a jew man, if you do mistake ask any girl out that happen to be a girl friend to any member of any cult group, bros your own don finish be that, na only makurdi you go see boys the chase somebody with matchet and axe in day time, the most annoying thing is that only north bank in makurdi has two army barracks, Nasme barracks(one of the biggest millitary barracks in nigeria) then 72 batallion, all the young soldiers in the both barracks are also members of one cult group or other. The worst place to live as a youth is nowhere else but makurdi. na so so how best you go the hear from every street.

The best way to eradicate out of school children is:

- Family planning... (Nigeria used to have jingles and adverts on family planning in the 90's)..

- Extend school start age to 4years old...(where are we really rushing out children to)..

About your second point, in our days school age was four, we even had a few who were a little above that age. These days I think schools(particularly private schools) are business establishments. Their priority is making money off parents, else what business does an infant of a year, a little less or above have doing in school? They charge exorbitantly and keep the older ones in school for hours in the name of 'extra lessons', but these extra hours mean extra cash. You don't get a child to learn by caging him for several hours in the name of teaching....and it's in these same schools parents are forced to pay some tips to external invigilators during their final exams. Not all but most schools are just business centres.

I think e depend on how person choose to live their life sha. If them no come rob you for night or you no join dem for their nonsense activities, I believe say you no suppose get any business with them. Drink your beer jejely waka go house go sleep your thing. No mind them, you go live well.

So what's ur point. In my village many families farm & train their children through agriculture in benue. Most of them are graduates with good jobs & business. Better keep quiet if u don't have anything meaningful to say. My dad was a farmer trained himself in school worked in a jucie government agency, sent us aboard to school.

Very True.
.
The problems are their youth are part of Boko haram, Fulani herdsmen, IPOB, Niger delta militants etc, there are cheap crops, excess limestone, lack of sharia etc...
.
Benue rigged the election in other states to put most governors in power
These are just a few of the 40% of Nigerias problem benue has caused.

So, my numerous Igbo brothers all over the world are also poor.

Google school enrollment by Nigeria states to know where Benue stands.

Our people have the largest number outside. That does not make we the Igbo poor. Many of my brothers here in Abuja can't even feed well. You are also in Abuja but you are not an indegen. Why not stay in your rich state to get the better life? Does it mean your state is so poor that they can't give you the better life? Think about it
