Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has said bandits have released 17 students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, who were kidnapped on Monday evening.

Speaking in an interview with Deutse Welle Hausa Service in Katsina on Monday, the governor said he had just be informed that 15 students were found in Danmusa Local Government Area while security operatives said they found one of the students in the forest

Masari also said that one of the parents of the kidnapped student had confirmed that his son had returned home.

According to him, since the incident occurred, soldiers and other security operatives are in the forest trying to ensure that the other students are rescued.

“Our major concern is to see that they are free and unhurt. We are still pleading for the understanding from the parents of the kidnapped students and Nigerians that we are not resting on our oars,” he said.

On the claim that the government had started negotiating with the bandits, Masari said that so far, they have no direct link with the bandits expect the conversation the bandits had with one of the parents.

“We were told that the bandits asked for ransom but they did not state how much. They also warned that security officials should stop hovering around with their aircraft,” he said.

The Katsina governor also said that from intelligence reports, the bandits are now in Zamfara forest with the kidnapped students.

Nigerians, have you seen how useless your country has become? Your governments are now negotiating with terrorists. That should tell you all that your lives are in constant danger.

The government is simply saying that terrorists now have upper hands.

El-rufai paid terrorists years back after the latter murdered so many people in southern Kaduna.

Buhari recruited Boko haram terrorists into the Nigeria military.

Now, Katsina state is negotiating with terrorists.

Just imagine for a while bearing a child into this kind of hostile country!

Yet, the likes of yarimo, NGpatriot, seunmsg, simplyleo, Thatfairguy, et al claim buahri is a champion. Champion in what exactly? Champion in insecurity?

Nigeria is useless. No security in this country.
How can over 300 boys be kidnapped and only 17 returned?

No one's lives mean anything if it isn't the politicians' lives.

Katsina is not Borno, they cannot hold that number of abductees for too long when they have been surrounded by the military, soon,, they will have to let everyone go.

yesterday night i went to buy fresh pepper from my neighbour's stall.. Some axe'men were sitting and drinking hot drink.. One of them said, 2 days ago a woman selling fresh fish at Esuk(Bayside market) was kidnapped and a ransome of #2500 was demanded before she was released.. Everyone there was just laughing and shaking head. #2500??
Every single day.. Atleast a person is being kidnapped in Cross River here.
