Edo 2020: Obaseki was our student, graduated in 1979 – UI

The University of Ibadan (UI) on Wednesday confirmed that Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State, graduated from the institution.
UI in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan said Mr Obaseki graduated from the university in 1979.

PREMIUM TIMES reported how the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday, joined critics of the governor to question his educational qualification.
“Someone should approach the UI and end this matter once and for all. If the certificate Obaseki parades is that of the UI, find out – how did he pass senate screening of those days? I’m aware that in those days when this man never dreamt of becoming a governor, every student, no matter your status or your family name, must pass screening.

“How come the UI allowed him then. Did he do a remedial? which was not unlikely. These are questions. Many (who) came in especially in education and linguistics, did remedial for one year and if the result was good, gained direct entry and graduated three years after,” Mr Oshiomhole told journalists at the inauguration of the APC’s screening and appeal committees.
The party chairman and the governor, who were allies, are now at daggers drawn with Mr Oshiomhole backing another aspirant for the APC governorship ticket.

Ode, what do you know? UI record is 1979, but obaseki sworn under oath for his first term that he graduated in 1976. Why is he comfortable using 1976 rather than 1979?

But the question he needs to answer is how did he enter UI with just 3 credits without English and Mathematics? And if he he has A level result, let him supply it or is it difficult for you and your Obasek to do that? The fact that many of your generation got admission to universities fraudulently, does not mean you should go scot-free when you are found out even many years after you have graduated. Do you get that?

BTW the 2016 election cannot be brought to bear on the 2019 election

He can be punish for crimes committed in the past. If truly he committed perjury in 2016 and the plaintiff can prove his case, then there will be problem for Obaseki.

He was supposed to be pursing more senior postion at Abuja but Oshiomole ignorantly put his eyes in what the governor was doing in Edo state instead of growing himself in Abuja.

When they were looking for leadership to spearhead reconciliation committee effort within the south south, Apc went for Chief John Odigie Oyegun.

Why did n't they go for Oshiomole?

Mr president did not present the certficate he didnt have. He said his secondary school certifcate was with the army and he never claim more than what he has unlike your Obasek? A minister was sacked because she was alleged to have forged her NYSC certificate. So what is wrong in sacking Obasek if he is found to have forged his A level certificate with which he entered UI?

If UI admits a candidate with 2 credits only it's simply their business.The UI has confirmed Godwin Obaseki was validly admitted as a student in 1976 and graduated in 1979.
