The finer details of FIFA's The Best awards often make for interesting reading, and it's sometimes possible to tell a lot about relationships within the game depending on where an individual's votes go.

That is certainly the case in the vote for The Best coach, and players don't only vote for who they think the best coach is, but also for those who have treated them well.

Gareth Bale's votes this year make for interesting reading, with the Welsh captain overlooking Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane. Bale opted for Hansi Flick as his first vote, before Jurgen Klopp in second and Julen Lopetegui in third.

Luka Modric, Sergio Ramos and Eden Hazard, all valued Zidane's contribution a little more.

Both Hazard and Ramos had the Frenchman in first place, while Modric put Zidane in second, behind Flick.

Ramos, like Bale, gave a nod to a former coach as he put Lopetegui down as his third best coach for the year.

Lopetegui himself, meanwhile, voted for Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi as his top three players.

Lewandowski, unsurprisingly, voted for Bayern Munich coach Flick as his best coach of 2020.
