Islam means to 'submit', 'surrender'. It doesn't mean 'Peace'. Islam means surrender, the same way a culprit is meant to surrender to the authorities. If you are not a muslim you are a culprit that needs to submit to allah and his messenger (quran 9:29, quran 8:39, sahih Bukhari 4:52:220, etc)
