Maybe they feel perhaps she could undo the effect of some deliberate harsh economic pressure on some nations balls... I.e Iran

When an American medical doctor was elected World Bank President, nobody spoke about experience or qualification, now a well qualified African woman, a graduate of Harvard with much experience in finance and commerce isn't fit enough to be WTO head simply because she isn't the US's preferred candidate. Same thing they tried to do to Akinwunmi Adesina during the AfDB saga.

If all western leaders were like Trump, no African man or woman would ever head a global or regional organization.
. The same Trump is Ipob choice.

Biden will not support her the moment he watch the video where the ipobian nyamuri were campaigning for Trump. When we tell these ipob terrorists not to do politics with emotions they will start insulting us, now look at what you have done to your sister. You came out boldly campaigning for Trump and you expect Biden to support you when he watch that video? No no no . I said it! Ipob will use their hands to kill ipob.

Sentiments and patriotism aside, iweala is not qualified to lead the WTO.
The job requires someone with vast experience in trade issues. The south korean candidate Yoo myung hee who for over 25yrs worked as a trade negotiator and trade policy maker would have made a perfect pick.

The job requires someone with real, hands on experience in the field.
All the trade experience she's got is local
More like a trade minister in her country

Ngozi vsTrump battle from now to january will be won by ngozi chukwu. Biden will not display this kind of racism which trump is currently showing. Meaning ngozi chukwu being on seat as WTO directory general will prolong.
when you decided to openly campaign for Trump and you expect Biden to support her after watching your campaign video? You must be joking.

Sentiments aside.
I do not like the woman but the reality is there is nothing like being qualified for this particular role.
Any person who has senior experience in a bureaucracy whether FIFA or WHO is qualified
it is not even worth being called a "job". because it is not a job. It is a sinecure
So talking about hands on experience just reveals ignorance (no disrespect) of what the DG can do.
There is no executive power attached to the role so that argument does not wash. The DG has as much power as the Secretary General of the UN = ZERO
The Organization is a trade organization and by definition it will never serve all interest equally. Therefore what would it look like when a suitably "qualified person" is there . Is there a realistic scenario that the WTO will end up creating a world of fair trade?
There is no qualification to square that particular circle
This rejection is not about qualification.

That's the answer

Nigeria is going to need NOI next year.

She sits on the board Of the Global Vaccine alliance.

If she wins the WTO, she is in a unique position to secure Nigeria's batch of Covid vaccines.

Devil. Go and rot with your satanic vaccine.

Trump is an evil racist, but I support his stance on Iweala. Madam Bill Gates vaccine pusher.

The US is becoming a nation of anti democratic tendencies. This we can see with a Trump still trying to come to terms with his electoral loss.

The WTO had already voted for NOI still the US want the entire process restarted. Abeg who do USA this strong thing? They are becoming to look like North Korea.

So the Korean Woman that US is supporting is more experienced than Ngozi a former World Bank Executive staff??

If you don't know what is at play here you should do your research an gain insight..

US is just trying to place a puppet they can control in their facour, expecially with the recent US & China Trade war

You're very likely a South Easterner or a South Southerner. The "pull my person down syndrome" is very synonymous with people from these regions. What do you stand to benefit with the Korean as head of WTO?
