Federal government should proscrbe all the Unions on campus

These Unions want to undermine the integrity of the Buhari's government who have to a large extent performed beyond expectations

If ASUU hell bent on all demands, then they should also forfeit their salary as they it's stipulated under 2004 no work no pay Act.

If this is done once, everyone will know his/level. Federal government are truly utterly bad but ASUU too are not without their blames.

People always think ASUU are right in all ramifications but taking a look at FG policy, one will discover that it's I have the best interest of the masses. If we check those policies we'll, none is not for the interest of the students.

ASUU just use the existing tool to hold ASUU tightly so as to actualize their selfish interest.

The country will be thrown into chaos if all unions use their style.

ASUU has failed the students. The government has failed too.
The approach of the government in tackling this strike is nothing to write home about.
The most promising sector of a nation has been inactive for months and they can go to court but if it was to be fighting for a political seat they wouldnt hesitate to do that.

How did Ngige disappoint? He's just a minister and can only make recommendations to the president.

The real demons here are ASUU members and it's leadership. They are extremely greedy and don't care about their students. Can Ngige force them to work? They've approved UTAS but they are still not satisfied, let's blame the true culprit.
Very true sir.

ASUU should not call off the strike untill Federal Government completely renotiate 2009 agreement and mainstream the negotiated salaries and their allowances into their salaries.
It was agreed that in 2009 that salaries of the lecturers should be reviewed in every three years. So any salary review that does not capture 11 years time lapse should not be accepted.

Ngige has been busy using hunger tactics on ASUU thinking they would yield. It is only making ASUU more headstrong on the issue.

Angered by Ngige tactics, they probably have vowed never to call off the strike untill all demands are met even if It will take years to achieve.

To be fair to Ngige he may not be in good position to take certain decisions that could have ended the strike.

Just for the record, Ngige is a conciliator while AGF heads government team. Now you can imagine, accountant general of the federation heading government team in the presence of substantive ministers of labour, education, and finance and their state counterparts.

He is not responsible for salary payment. Some people in the Villa and ministry of finance are responsible.

Ngige is the culprit here as I've often pointed out. If he tells the president to listen to ASUU today, the strike would be called off. But what do we expect from a Mushin boy in government grin

Does Ngige actually has access to the president or the influence to convince him?

You are right Ngige is not the problem neither is the leadership of ASUU.

What is difficult in paying withheld salaries and earned allowance agreed on?

ASUU suspended strikes twice in 2017 and 2019 and twice was betrayed by government. Now the union is saying government should go first, pay salaries and earned allowances and strike will be suspended but government is insisting on suspension before implementation.

Who has approved UTAS? ...The FG is trying every possible means of discrediting UTAS even with the shortcomings of IPPS.....IPPS is a foreign platform we pay to use and UTAS is our payment platform that is even free...ohhhh!! The gov't prefers wasting money abi..ASUU demands over a 100 billion and federal government is pricing it like Akara or pepper but they can approve contracts worth more than that amount and still not deliver the contract.... Lecturers are not paid well at all ..why do you think they engage in illegal activities just to make ends meet ...

Don't waste your time replying fools

We have passed that stage. An alternative payment platform is currently undergoing integrity test. It is not what is prolonging the strike.

The union has made its points on IPPIS very clear on several occasions.

I don't have to. The whole government is a failure. That's why Ngige could not do much.

Accountant general of the federation is the leader of government team. Isn't that strange to you?

In the impending students' demonstration , ASUU lecturers should not be spared! They're the ones directly punishing students over their issues with government. Many of those wicked lecturers don't know what's coming their way. Let them keep deluding themselves until this strike snowballs into a riot.

Then they'll know that Nigerian students are not fools.
