Re: For Mathematicians Only! by samolina1(m): 8:43am On Mar 28, 2011
No difference but the same variable.
Re: For Mathematicians Only! by Nobody: 9:25am On Mar 28, 2011
^olodo. . . The diff is dat one has '0' at d back while d other doesn't!
Re: For Mathematicians Only! by shomatth(m): 9:39am On Mar 28, 2011
As an 100 level student in OAU,d different btw 3.7 and 3.70 are :- 1. 3.7 is in 2 s.f while 3.70 is in 3 s.f. 2. 3.7 is in 1dp while 3.70 is in 2 dp.

Analytically speaking, both numbers are the say since they occupy the same position on the real line (Real analysis)

What does this question has to do with OAU? Some ppl's mentality sef
Re: For Mathematicians Only! by shomatth(m): 5:36pm On Mar 28, 2011

How is this question relevant to anyone?
Re: For Mathematicians Only! by Nobody: 9:29am On Mar 29, 2011
As a physicist. D diffe between both figure is +or- 0.5. I.e the range of both is(3.65-3.74) which simply means 3.70
Re: For Mathematicians Only! by Nobody: 2:48pm On Mar 29, 2011
Harbijoye, be explicit!

Demovire's theorem, anybody?
Re: For Mathematicians Only! by mufuteeeee(m): 8:47am On Mar 30, 2011
check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Moivre%27s_formula. Everything is there.
Or tell me if U want more explanations.
Re: For Mathematicians Only! by Nobody: 11:31am On Mar 30, 2011
I want more explanation
Re: For Mathematicians Only! by mufuteeeee(m): 4:10pm On Mar 31, 2011
e^(iθ)=cosθ+i(sinθ) [Euler's formula]

therefore: e^(inθ)=[cosθ+i(sinθ)]^n=cos(nθ)+isin(nθ) from law of exponents.

The first identity comes from expanding e^x=1 +x+ x2/2!+ x3/3! +x4/4! +x5/5! +xn/n! and replacing x with iθ. I think this should help
