When this new 8k QLED has lived its hype and becomes cheaper I will consider buying it... The price usually crashes with time.

I am not sure that there are many 8K contents out there to stream, even in developed countries. Most people watch HD contents. The 4K Qled is okay. 8k is gimmicky. It's very easy to get fooled by the 4k or 8k disc they play on repeat at show rooms.

It's sold for 4500 Canadian dollars (Amazon Canada) which is around 1.3 million naira for 75inches. The price on this one has jacked up for a 65 inches.

For that price, I am also suprised that it does not come with a Samsung one connect box

You don't need 8k TV in 2020 because there are not 8k content flying around out there.

Ask yourself, which tv station shows content in 4k let alone 8k?

Full HD, 4k, 8k etc somewhat depends on the content. If the content is not 8k, you can't enjoy 8k!

Most content/stations out there are not even up to HD. 4k content are not even available, unless some YouTube videos and some Netflix? How much more 8k?

Don't waste the money

Spot on bro.Money i will use to buy a plot of land that will appreciate within a year and yield me so much income.Hd wey i get is very ok talk more of buying 8k tv solely 4 playstation5.

Price is Ok.
Roughly about $5000 USD
Just that it will be too expensive for Nigerians, since Naija is the WORLD'S POVERTY CAPITAL.

My thoughts exactly. The specs are fantastic and there are Nigerians that can afford it. I got myself a 4k TV just for my PS5 as a personal present for myself for surviving 2020. It's far better to spend on yourself or your immediate family than some worthless social media crazed cheating two timing female out there.

1. This is the worst location on the internet to post such a product. Online Dangotes have already purchased it in their dreams, the rest are thinking up comments to demotivate anyone looking such way.

2. This boy, I hope this isn't his official Nairaland account. Frustration will just chase him off this medium in the nearest future.

3. If I can get a PS 5 then this is my next purchase. A gaming PC with the latest RTX graphics cards will use all the pixels in the TV to make games look amazing.

If you dont have 8K content, you can still experience the 8k with the help of upscaling. Samsung TV with 4k comes with 4k upscaling. 8k with 8K upscaling.

For gamers you ll have beautiful gaming experience.

TV prices do not drop like mobile phone's. I opened the thread with shock and was wondering how sales persons will convince Nigerians to buy an 8k QLED when cinemas are still using 4k. Plus, which Nigerians TV station will be 'mad' enough to buy new technologies just so they want to start streaming in 8k?

It is a waste of time in Nigeria. Even the best of movie contents will at most come in 4k, which isn't something we see everyday. 5k TVs have been around a while but no one is talking about them but 8k is in our faces.

Resolutions are not like data networks where upgrading is a must. Not sure anyone will get value for buying the 8k QLED.

you don’t know the meaning of upscaling ??
Native 4k and upscaled to 4k there's a difference.
The 4k content that came with the device clearly has more details than the GOT it watched that was just 2k. Though I'm certain it was upscaled

In some other forums abroad like Quora etc, you will only see people that have the same kinda TV being discussed commenting and giving their views and opinions,

But in our darling country,
People that are just seeing the image of the TV for the very first time today today, na dem go dey make comments like 'the TV go show me how inside heaven be', or will the TV show me all the movement of my Nkechi or Basira?'
Or will the TV show them what their future holds? OR
'With the amount of this TV, I can get 2 plots of land somewhere in Ikorodu, Ogbomosho, Mbaise or Otuoke!' cheesy

Up Naija, we can't stop loving our darling country.........lailai!

See am, we talk am!! grin cheesy wink

Re: Is Samsung's 8K TV, Q800t (2020) Worth 2.5 Million Naira?! by Nobody: 7:05am On Dec 23, 2020
No. I don't think any movie content on netflix is beamed using that kind of resolution yet. If you want a better experience, just buy a 4k with a bigger screen. You can get a 75" 4k Samsung for way less than N2.5m. It depends on how important viewing experience is for you though. If you like it, go for it. Don't let others choose for you. Post an unboxing vid here when you get it. Maybe we'll be convinced.

Someone mentioned gaming though. I think it would be a far better experience if you're a gamer. That could justify it.
