. And yet, engineering students in that school can't solve simple practical engineering problems..

Why can't our public universities be up to this standard?

Why the hype? Tell us about the ground breaking research conducted by the school. Tell us about their technological innovations. Tell us about how their products are disrupting the various industries they find themselves.
With COVID-19 questioning all the systems we once held in high esteem, only a reserved well known group will still drool over University building architecture.

The way UNN students in Kenneth Dike hostel managed to destroy the toilet that was built for them in 2010 in less than 2 years still marvels me till today.

What is ratio of students to toilet? Putting the blame on students is the easiest thing to do. What is the plan for maintenance and what is the measure put into place to punish improper usage?

The University of Ghana, Legon still strikes me as one of the most properly managed university in West Africa. Ivory Coast also boasts of one two. Right from the design to the yearly maintenance, it is usually top notch.

The toilets were maintained by the school.. I'm talking about everyday maintenance. But even that was not enough. After using the toilets the students had the habit of not flushing.. Some used paper to clean up instead Of tissues and instead of discarding it properly, some had the bad habit of flushing them down the toilet... Every week atleast 5 toilet was decommissioned. Things were bad.

Your first paragraph. You can't be sure of that.

Private institutions are better maintained than anything in Nigeria because you as the owner will not allow people ruin your investment or legacy while alive.

If it was Public institutions, I would have agreed to that. There is a government institution beside me where the workers there have made it their work to sell any tangible equipment coming from the government. Not to forget the fact that out of over 2k workers, just around 80 of them come to work daily.

The OP needs to visit ABUAD in Ado-Ekiti

CV and ABUAB are the best private universities in Nigeria in ALL good aspects!

Both are better by far!
