Home Sauna UK: Buyer Guide and Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

With everything being sold on the internet these days, it's become relatively easy to buy anything with home sauna being one of them. So what you should ask yourself is which sauna should I buy and why?

If you don't have a sauna, buying a sauna for the home can be quite stressful as there are different types of saunas ranging from a garden sauna, outdoor sauna, to infrared sauna. And with too many sauna manufacturers and dealers at your beck and call, you are spoilt for choice. So if this is your first time purchasing a sauna, this buyer's guide should help you make the right choice.

Listed below are a few things you should consider:

Infrared Saunas UK or Traditional (Finnish) Saunas

This is perhaps the most important thing you should take note of before deciding to purchase a sauna. While infrared saunas haven't been in the sauna market a long time compared to their traditional counterparts, they have become increasingly popular in recent times.

So what are the differences you should note before buying any of them?

A traditional Finnish sauna is not able to heat your body, as the heating elements heat only air. An infrared sauna, on the other hand, directly heats the body. Infrared saunas require low temperature (1000F-1300F) while traditional saunas require very high temperatures (1800F-2200F).

Also, an infrared sauna doesn't take much time to warm-up and thus saves electricity compared to traditional saunas. Due to the low temperature it uses, you can relax in an infrared sauna for a much longer time compared to traditional saunas, which allow you to reap its health benefits in a shorter time.

Electricity

An essential factor to consider before buying a sauna for the home is electrical specifications. You should take care to buy a sauna that fits your electrical outlets. Also, you should take into consideration and make calculations on the number of times you intend using your sauna daily, weekly or monthly, so you do not incur expensive electric bills.

Installation

Unlike traditional (Finnish) saunas that have to be built into a selected space (e.g. garden sauna, outdoor sauna) within your home because of their size, infrared red saunas are purchase pre-built and can be easily assembled. All you need is the installation guide, and you may not even require the services of an expert.

Warranties

Ensure that you choose a sauna manufacturer that provides a warranty. You should read reviews, ask questions in forums or groups about certain sauna products as well as if the manufacturer offers free repair service within the first 1 or 2 years of purchase. What does the warranty cover? How long for is the warranty valid? These are some of the questions you should ask.
