Are you sleeping you forgot cotonou in Benin Republic, they also have some rice farmers there. Don't worry with the Hard Times coming your roof of your house in Lagos you can start planting rice on top
The op said 800 Lagos farmers.

I don't remember Benin Republic to be a street inside Lagos.

There's no land to plant in Lagos so i wonder where the 800 Lagos farmers are farming in Lagos undecided

Nigeria is not among the top 25 rice producing countries in the world, yet building the third largest rice mill.

Nigeria is one of the largest producers of crude oil , yet no one has thought to build a refinery.

Does anyone still wonder why the country is in ruins? Her priorities are upside down

I hope it won't turn out to be another Ajaokuta.

Its not a matter of being the largest in the world or anything; Can it cause the price of rice to reduce? Will there be adequate stable power supply? Can effective hands manage it?
If you ask us, na who we go ask? This is a dumb question. Go to the official website to ask the relevant people. Appreciate a good step forward!

Knowing Nigeria well this is not a good step yet until we can see it’s uselfulness and difference to Nigerians.

Remember we have refineries and steel plants that are not working.

Don't mind the shameless government of Ogun & Lagos State

They'v abandoned that ijebuode - Ikorodu road.

nigerian like unproductive elephant projects just to obtain loans and abandon later. Avaliability of raw materials should determine the size of the factory. Look at our nations refineries, steel factory etc -been wasted compare to the quack modular refineries been operated in the riverine area and their effectiveness to produce. The govt will rather destroy them than to lmprove on them. Take akwa lbom which has garri and rice processing plants but LACK RAW MATERIALS. As a result they are just another monuments lost to waste and lack of planing. Good luck.

Whether it is the largest, second largest or third largest in the world, the consequential importance is that it serves as a means of employment for the teeming youths of Imota, Agbowa and Ikorodu.

2.5 million bags per year should sufficiently meet the local demand of Lagos and the entire Southwest.

Enough of rice importation. cool
why are you so antagonistic towards any good development in this Country?? You guys are very terrible

Won't you plant rice first before milling? Another elephant project lool. Gbenga Daniel did something like this...Bush don cover am
You are just a pained soul.
So rice should be planted first before rice mill that takes time to complete is done?
Did you do logic in school?
Rice takes 4 to 6 months. A mill with this capacity can't take less than a year or two.
Just read what you posted and see if it make sense.

What I see is forceful taking of community land with instrument of government (land use act) without due compensation.
What I see is outrageous project quotation and diversion of public funds. It would shock you to know that the project could be done with 500million but is quoted as 3-5 trillion.

Private individuals do a more nice and lasting projects with millions...Government does weak projects with Trillions feeding pockets.
Which way Nigeria.

The bidding or procurement Act...Is for equitable distribution of the Capital Finance of the project meant for the public to the political class. If you eat it alone as someone in governance. They (political class) would wield the ACT against you.
