This is funny. We are too serious in this part of the world and inadvertently carry the seriousness with us when we travel. It's not our fault joor. 16 Likes 1 Share |

TheBanker23: Lolzzz. The useless mods finally moved this to the front page after it was all over social media in Dec 2020. So you guys are tired of moving boobs, ass, twerking, worthless awards and pageant to the front page? Clowns. Thank God your senses are gradually coming back to normal. 24 Likes 2 Shares

My own cultural shock in Nigeria is when those who didn't go out to vote on election day will complain more than those that stood on the queue for 2 hours to vote. Another is when those that failed in the university will keep saying, "School na scam" while buying another JAMB form. 13 Likes 1 Share |

My own experience was when I was studying for my masters and i was just standing close to the lecture hall entrance and I saw my prof , a young lady in her late 30’s walking towards the hall having her bag and her heavy text books all in her hands, wanted to collect the load and help her but she declined and I was literally dragging the load from her and she responded “ thanks .. it’s my responsibility “ 27 Likes 4 Shares |

But why must we ditch our culture just because we are outside of our country, Chinese, Japanese, etc bow when they greet, Indians and co put their hands together to greet and everybody all over the world know this! Indians and some Arabs wear turbans and it is not a shock for them to wear it outside of their country! Why is it that our ways of greeting is an embarrassement to us outside of our land? I can understand the embarrassement in the use of SIR and MA during greetings because it is not our culture, we borrowed and over use it. If I bow down to greet a foreign elder and the person is embarrassed, I will rather sit the person down and teach him or her my culture. If any young person travel abroad and come back to start calling me by my first name. Hmmm hen, they way I will flog or talk to the young person, surely he or she will be culture-shocked second time! 34 Likes 2 Shares |

As a Teenager, one of my cousins came to Nigeria from UK with her English Husband (Mid Thirties) na so I dey bow they greet ham , I nor kwn say the guy dey para for me Cox of the way I do greet him to the extent the guy dey avoid me & nor come dey dash me something again. Mind was my first day at work, my manager offered me a cup of tea made by her very self. I couldn’t just place it for a whole manager of a company in Nigeria going to make you a tea. Hmmmmm. But still I love my culture. 20 Likes 2 Shares |

One tin when shook me pass You buy cloth for shop, you return ham after 2wks , them still give you change ontop the mata, say the cloth price don reduce since you buy ham. I wonder if a very honest Nigerian will do that. They will say God don answer their prayers. Am not sure if I will do that either. 12 Likes 1 Share |
