-Nepotism: It can trigger unintended consequences - Lai Mohammed warns Nigerian cleric who criticised Buhari

Lai Mohammed has issued a stern warning to Bishop Mathew Kukah following his "nepotism" criticism of President Muhammadu Buhari.

- The information and culture minister cautioned the cleric against fanning the embers of hatred in the country

- Mohammed warned that religious leader must avoid statement that can "trigger unintended consequences"

Mathew Kukah has come under attack following his criticism of President Muhammadu, with the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese warned to desist from action that can “trigger unintended consequences.”

Giving this warning is the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, in a reaction to Kukah's remark on Buhari's government alleging that the president is running the affairs of the country with barefaced nepotism.

In a statement titled "FG Urges Religious Leaders To Eschew Message of Disharmony", the senior minister stated that it is unbefitting of religious leaders to fan the embers of disunity and hatred.

Legit.ng recalls that in his Christmas message on Friday, December 25, titled, the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese had submitted that "there is no non-Muslim leader who could have done a fraction of what President Buhari has done by his nepotism and gotten away with it."

Kukah's criticism came amid backlashes that trailed the president's political appointment and the security situation in the country.

But in a swift response, the information minister and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain said it was “graceless and impious for any religious leader to use the period of Christmas, which is a season of peace, to stoke the embers of hatred, sectarian strife & national disunity."
“While some religious leaders, being human, may not be able to disguise their national leadership preference, they should refrain from stigmatising the leader they have never supported anyway, using well-worn and disproved allegations of nepotism or whatever."

The cleric said the Almajiris in the northern part of Nigeria have been “sinned against” &denied opportunities for social progress by the elite.

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kaduna, said on Monday, June 8, that the Almajiri has become a scapegoat for the multiple sins of the Nigerian state in general and some Muslim elite in particular.

Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no president has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari.

It is unarguable that the president arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria.Yes,a recession cabinet.

Buhari is the only Nigerian president that has presided over the country under multiple recessions. As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari.
https://www.thecable.ng/buharis-legacy-of-recessions

So says the legendary lying machine. What more have "unintended consequences" than the overt nepotic policy of governance that the Buhari regime practiced in the 1980s and have continued same since 2015 till date?

Have this not further polarized Nigeria along many lines that is now dangerously tearing this nation apart? They always wanting to play the victim by deflecting attention from their primary gaffe.

Under Buhari, the truth can trigger unintended consequence. That's how bad reality is under him. Sowore wanted to protest, it was crushed. Youths' own too was crushed. Adeboye advises on restructuring, it is a threat. Now Kukah states the truth, and it is too bitter a pill for the society to deal with. Reality is harsh under Buhari.

A better Nigeria is all we want.

For those that genuinely want a better Nigeria,
Let us criticize the shortcomings of this government for a better country we deserve, people like Omotola, Prof Soyinka, BF and other sane Nigerians, they criticize the bad and negative things going on in our darling nation and commend the good things we are seeing allover the nation.

But for the ones that are criticizing because the criminals and thieves they want in power are no more there, they only see bad things, pessimistic souls, they pretend they are doing it for poor masses but it is effing glaring they hate and criticize cos the looting and the corrupt money they are used to is no longer forthcoming,
those are are ones that will never prosper in life, cos all they see and pray for in the country is nothing more than sorrow, tears and blood, the evil vices that will never leave their generations to come.
No be curse,
Na fact!!!
God bless Nigeria.
MAY BUHARI SUCCEED.

Addendum : Nobody can deny that there are very serious challenges in the country, particularly in the areas of security, the economy, and standard of living generally. But that is not all there is to Nigeria of today, and those challenges are being addressed very robustly.
That hymn says “behind a frowning providence, He hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast, unfolding every hour.” We will surely see an end to the challenges, if we all work together, and eschew hate speeches.

For once, I must admit that President Muhammadu Buhari has failed... President Buhari has failed WOEFULLY to deal ruthlessly with this anarchist parading himself as a Bishop! Too bad and I am highly disappointed in him!..

Instead of you to do justice, you are merely issuing warnings? Really? Is it until these pharisees and sadducees burn down Nigeria before you understand they are criminals and terrorists hiding under the cloak of religion to unleash mayhem? Please DO SOMETHING URGENTLY! beloved father! Save us! Save Nigeria! Deal ruthlessly with enemies of this great country!

May God grant you the strength and wisdom to flush them out!

God bless all patriotic Nigerians.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Address the security and nepotism issues he raised and stop beating about the bush, looking for character assassination of the Bishop.

Did Buhari fail to secure life and properties of the North? Are the service chiefs doing their jobs? Is Buhari nepotistic in his appointments? Among the security chiefs and architecture of this nation, was the three main tribes in this country carried along?

One thing about lying to cover the truth is that you keep telling more lies and keep evading the truth

We need to split this country
