Bitter Kola has been used across several cultures for different treatments in new horns. One of such conditions is Colic -
In general, colic is defined as crying for three or more hours a day, three or more days a week, for three or more weeks. Features of colic may include the following: Intense crying that may seem more like screaming or an expression of pain.

Equally another condition which Bitter Kola is used in treating is pains as a result of falling off of the unbilical cord stump.


This effect of bitter Kola is a result of it's high caffeine content which when completely metabolised causes drowsiness.
