At the Hilton’s conference room, it’s a gathering of executive directors from different corporate bodies. Jimi sights Imade George as she stands up to give her short presentation. Jimi’s gaze is so fixed on her and his face beams with a smile.


Few hours later, the two stands facing each other.


“Am so surprised to see you.”


“Same here, my dad encouraged me to always attend business conference, this in particular.”


“I must say your delivery was excellent. “
“Thank you !”
“Errrmm........ I was thinking if you wouldn’t mind me hosting you in my residence for the weekend . “
“This......................weekend?”
Sounding like it won’t be possible
Immediately Jimi interrupts
“Pleassssss......................Your Royal majesty Imade George.”
They both chuckles
“Ok, I will create a time.”


“ Thank you.”


The two walk side by side and their conversation continues.

Later in the afternoon at Imade’s office.


She holds the telephone close to her ear speaking with the receptionist.


“Am expecting a visitor, her name is Oyin, call the security to inform them to let her in when she is around.”


“Yes ma.” The receptionist replies.


In a short time, Oyin makes her way into Imade’s office. Imade stands from her chair to join Oyin as she drops heavily in the couch.


“Uuuuuuuh..........” Oyin sighs


“How are you ?” Imade asks


“Very hectic day, I had to stop by to see my Auto mechanic. I can’t wait to get home, i really need to rest.”


Imade walks to the fridge to get Tokunbo some drink .


“So how was the business conference you plan to attend ?”


“It was good, i did my presentation and the funniest thing is that Jimi came for thesame conference “


“Really........”


“Yes We chatted after the meeting and he suggested to host me in his residence for the weekend.”


“So what did you tell him ?”


“Errrrmm...............”


“Ermmmmm. ....... what ?” They both cracks up.


“okaayyyy........... I told him that I will create a time.”


Oyin coughs
“This wedding bell is so going to be loud very soon.”


She smiles coyly.


“Imade believe me when I tell you this, that guy is drop dead charming..................then he is rich, we find such guy attractive . Imade, here is not London, this is naija. Grab that Jimmy guy with your two hands.”


“huuuhhh...........okay.” Imade sighs

Epsd 14



At the residence of Jimi Craig.


Imade and Jimi sits closely on the couch, they stare fixedly into each other eyes, almost inhaling their own breath. Gently their lips locked and they kiss slowly, In a while they stopped.


Imade utters something silently. Jimi who didn’t hear her utterance whispers back to her.


“What is it ?”


Looking quite timid, she didn’t reply.

Jimi couldn’t get enough of Imade’s pretty face, he kept staring at her so closely.
The two seems longing for each other, again their lips meet and they begin to kiss.

Later in the evening. Imade sits besides Jimi in his car as they drives along the free way to drop Imade at her place.


“Jimi, i would love to get some cakes at any nearby mall.”


“Oh...........cakes ?”


“Yes.”


“Ok, i know of a cakery where they make very good cakes.”


“Sounds like you visit there often, do you love cakes?”


“Not really, a friend of mine (Tokunbo) does.”


They both enjoy the music playing at the background while they drive.

In a short time, Imade and Jimi moves around the confectionery store. Imade looks so excited to see varieties of cookies and pastries.


“Wow !............ Here is just like Lily vanilli cakery in London.”


Suddenly, a lady’s voice draws Jimi’s attention, of course the voice sounds so Familiar. Jimi turns to take a look.


Surprisingly, he sees Tokunbo (his ex).


He fixed his gaze on her. Tokunbo who isn’t aware that someone is gazing so much at her walks effortlessly to the checkout counter to pay for her goodies.


Jimi who is so carried away watched Tokunbo till she walks out of the confectionery store.
Immediately Jimi becomes quite edgy, clearly he is bothered but he tries to keep his self control.


Shortly Imade rounds up and they both left the cakery.



Late in the evening of thesame day. Jimi sits alone at the bar in his abode, worries spreads across his face while he nursed his cup of drink.
He picks his phone to place a call


“Hello Mabel! (Tokunbo’s cousin)”


“Hi Jimi ! long time”


“Yeah long time............Mabel i need to see you, i have something important to discuss with you.”


“Hope no problem.”


“Not really, but it isn’t a phone talk.”


“.................okaayyyy.”


“Newton’s lounge, 4.00 pm by tomorrow. Will that be convenient? ”


“It’s okay by me, i will try to make it there.”


“Thank you Mabel , goodnight.”


“Good night Jimi.”


Jimi hangs up.

The interior of Imade’s bedroom.


Oyin and Imade lies on the bed. Catching up on all the gist from Imade’s visit to Jimi’s residence.


“Oyin........... I must confess that Jimi is just like an enchanter, one can’t resist to fall in love With Him.”


“Hmmmmm. ............”

“The moment we had a kiss....................”


Her voice trails off.


“C’mon Imade............................... spill your guts.”


“Okay..............after the moment we kissed, I have totally fallen in love with Jimi.”


“Awwwwwww.........”


“Oyin, I can’t even get my mind of him.”


“Imade, I know Jimi Craig is a man of your dreams, I can see that all over you, But............please do not be possessive of him, that might turn him off.”


Imade gives a nod.


“I understand, sure I won’t.”


One of the domestic staffs opens the door.

“Aunty, the table is set.”


“Oh thank you, we will come down soon.” Imade replies


The staff exit the bedroom while Oyin and Imade takes their time before proceeding to the dining table.





AT THE LOUNGE

Jimi walks into the Newton’s lounge and joins Mabel on her table.


“Sorry for keeping you waiting.”


“Never mind, i came in just few minutes ago.”


Jimi orders for a red wine, it was served in a minute. He pours some into Mabel’s Cup and some for himself.


He clears his throat before speaking.


“Thank you Mabel for coming, I invited you because of Tokunbo............. She is your cousin and I know you are aware of what happened between us two.”


Mabel nods.


“Regardless of the break up, I can’t deny that the memories of Tokunbo and I is a wonderful one. I used to like Tokunbo and I really still do.................. Mabel I want to give Tokunbo a surprise birthday party.”


“Oh !...............wow .................I Mean That’s Thoughtful Of You. “


“Yeah she deserves it.”


“So how do you want us to go by it ?”


“Good, I want to make it a Yacht party.”


“Yacht ?” Mabel exclaims


“Yes we are all going to be on the sea in a luxurious super yacht. Contract the menu to the best chef you know. I want the likes of Jack Daniels, Grey goose, French white wines and more expensive wines, hire the best D.J.................”


Mabel interrupts.


“For real ?”


“Yes Mabel, shop for a very expensive dress and shoes for Tokunbo, hire a professional makeup artist for her too. Make enquiries and draw out the quotation, then forward the bills to me.”


“Ok, i will do just that and get back to you.”


“Please remember it’s a surprise, she mustn’t be aware of it.”


“Of course I will keep it away from her.”


Jimi brings out cash from his wallet and drop few thousands on the table. She leaps to his feet to take his leave.


“Mabel, pay up the bill and the rest for your fuel.”


“You won’t take your wine ?” she asked,


He glances through his watch.


“Mabel I have to go, see you soon.”


“Alright, I will call you.”


Jimi makes his way out.


Mabel mumbles to herself.


“ A yacht party ?...................... Money is good.”

Tessa and Tokunbo engages in conversation, feeling so free with each other at Tokunbo’s office.


“Tessa you are kidding me”


“Seriously Tokunbo, I see men as serious issues. I have no other option than to exempt them from my life.”


“You don’t mean it ?”


“Of course I do. Am a feminist anytime, any day.”


Tokunbo chuckles


“Tessa you are a real crazy chic.”


“Oh yeah, Am crazy everyday and twice on Sundays.”


Tessa' s attitude got Tokunbo laughing her head off.


One of the staffs opens the door with a package in her hands.


“Ma, these are the items.”


She drops it right on the table.


Tokunbo brings the contents out one after the other.


“Tessa here you are.”


Tessa picks one of it to take a proper look.


“Oh..........my ! Tokunbo you really did a rebranding, This is Beautiful.”


Tokunbo places her hands on her chest smiling excitedly.


“Thank you so much.”


Tessa packs all the items into the bag.


“Tokunbo, please endeavour to honour my birthday invite.”


“Tessa, I will sure keep it in mind.”


She rises to her feet, Collecting her Phone, handbag And Other Items.


“It’s really nice coming around.”


“It’s good to have you here too.” Tokunbo replies


Tessa makes for the door, while Tokunbo follows her.



Couples of days later, Mabel sits comfortably at Didi’s office. She concentrate so much on the list before her.


Didi who went to attend to some of her clients downstairs opens the door.


“Mabel sorry I took so long.”


“No problem.”


She takes her seat close to Mabel.


Mabel passes (Tokunbo’s birthday) List To Didi.


“This is what I came up with.”


Didi glanced through it and exclaimed.


“#2 million naira.............. ?”


“Don’t stress yourself over the bill, the sponsor (Jimmy Craig) said he doesn’t want anything less than that.”


Didi nods her head.


“I must say Tokunbo really stole this guy’s heart, #2 million for birthday.”


Mabel cuts in


“Lucky ! Isn’t she ?”


“Oh yes she is.”


Mabel focus on the list again.


“ So Miss fashion entrepreneur, what do you say about Tokunbo’s dress? She asked Didi.


“Mabel we will definitely order for it.”


“Ok, that’s a good one.”


Didi glanced through her watch and stood up to peep through the window.


“Thank goodness, there is no much traffic.”


She sights a Familiar car glides Into the premises, She waited Patiently to confirm her thought.
Suddenly she smiles and turns to Mabel.


“Guess who is here.”


“Who ?”


“The birthday girl.................Tokunbo is here.”


“Oh my God.” Mabel springs up.

“What ?” Didi asked


“ I don’t want her to see me here.”


“Why ?”


“Mabel I have to hide this birthday preparation from Tokunbo, Am not too sure if I can do that. It’s better I don’t meet her face-to- face before the birthday.”


She picks her bag and walks on her tiptoes to the Restroom.


Didi covers her mouth grinning and laughing.


“Wait........wait......wait, what if she wants to use the rest room ?”


“Don’t worry, she won’t.”


Mabel whispered and dashed into the restroom, shutting the door after her.

Shortly the door opens and Tokunbo comes in.


“Hey ! See who will have here.” Didi mentions


As if Tokunbo knew that they were cooking something up for her. A smile blossomed On Her Face. Didi stands to hug her.


“Good to see you Tokunbo.”


“Good to see you too.”


Pointing to the couch. “ Please have your seat.”


“What do I offer you ?”


“Oh...........never mind, am actually in a hurry. I would be attending a friend’s birthday this weekend. I need you to make me a very nice outfit.”


“Wow.........!”


She stood up to grab her laptop.


“Let me show you some of my new collections, so that you can make a choice.”


They both glanced through some of her works, then Tokunbo finally picked an outfit.


Didi brings out her pencil and book to mark out her details.


“Am starting work on the fabrics right away, so it should be ready in couple of days.”


“Can’t wait to see it.” Tokunbo says


“Don’t worry you will.”


Didi gets serious with the sketching.


“When last did you hear from your friend Mabel ?” Tokunbo asked


“oh..............we talk everyday.”


Tokunbo suddenly brings out her phone.


“Let me call the big head to tell her that am in your place.”


Immediately Didi purses her lips to hold back her laughter.

At the rest room where Mabel was concealing, suddenly she sprang up at the sound of her phone. She quickly deep the phone into her bag to cover up the sound. Gently she switched the phone off, covering her mouth with the second hand.


Again Tokunbo tries to call her.


“haan- han switched off ?” She murmured to herself.


Didi pretended like she knows nothing paying a serious attention to her sketching.


“I can’t reach the big head ( Mabel) again, her phone is switched off.”


“Am sure it’s the net work.” Didi replies.


Gently, Tokunbo straightens up.


“Didi, i have to get going.”


Mabel also rose to her feet to see her off.



In few minutes, Didi and Mabel roll over with laughter, as they recount the funny scenario.


“Thank goodness I was holding my phone, that was the only way I could quickly switch the phone off to curb the noise.”


“Mabel, it took all my self to control my laughter, the moment she said let me call the big head.”
They burst out laughing again.


“But am so happy she didn’t find out.”


“ Me too.”


AT TESSA’S ABODE


Toju mentioned to Tessa as she walks into the living room.


“Your phone has been ringing.”


Tessa moves closer to check the caller.


“Ohhhh................... what kind of problem is this ?”


“What is it”


“This Lota girl won’t let me be. She keeps disturbing me about my birthday invitation ”


“ But you should have just invited her.”


“Toju, I don’t want crowd. Remember it’s a night party and have already booked rooms for limited number of guests.”


“That’s true, so what are you going to do now ?”


“I will simply ignore her call for now, then apologise later. I will tell her that I was so busy with the birthday preparation.”


Tessa leaves the phone on the table ringing. She drops in the chair with a sigh.


“ huuuuuh............can’t wait for this birthday to be over, the preparation is really taking a heavy toll on me.”


“ I can see that. Just try to relax yourself.


She moves closer to Tessa and gives her a massage at the back.

The two turns curiously to take a look, surprisingly, it was a range automobile. They two couldn’t help laughing.


The guy driving the car slowly wind down, without knowing the cause of their laughter, he smiled back at Oyin and Imade .
