Monkey village is not home to anyone, if you stay at Opebi , you will understand,

It’s home for the underworld, youth goes there to get high on weed and hard drugs,

This is long overdue , kudos to lagos state govt

Do you know Agbaoku street, next to the old TFC opposite Chrisland? Monkey village is at the end of the estate. It was cordoned off last year so the ghetto inhabitants won't have access through the estate anymore. Majority of the artisans, street hawkers you see around Opebi and Allen and some of those Pekas girls live there.

Oh my! That's the street beside Barrels. Na wa. So monkeys are really there? That's something fa.

After all you people do worship your own former and present political leaders and governors who could not lay a foundation of the state secretariat talkless of building it. Even the only bridge in Aba till now never get head talkless of finishing it still you people worship them even to senate to still represent you. What a shame
We are proud of all our sons and daughters including that person you're afraid to mention because is the most popular politician who has invested in many lives including most of your brothers who ran away from your region to sojourn in Lagos. since 1999 in Nigeria no politician who has done well politically in Nigeria than SAAT

That's quite true though. But in all and in all, it's for the growth of the place, twin, city and state too, we can't expect Lagos to be like New York without all these things taking place at the expense of some people though the government would certainly not be helping them, but I just hope that they would.

And as you know, also in the movie Bleep 2, with Ice Cube as Lead Actor, they made a quote by Jefferson Jackson that " The Tree of liberty will continually be refreshed with the blood of Patriots and Tyrants too " . Just pray to be lucy enough to be the enjoyer of the liberty and not the refresher. Hope you can relate.

Well said.
After all America was built with the blood and on the broken backs of slaves.
It's capitalism all through where the rich feed on the poor. Better not be at the receiving end because the world will always be unfair. I tell myself this too

Igbos are actually ready to go... As long as we go with our resources!
You can't be using resources from our resources to develop your region and tell us not to partake in the opportunities our resources have provided you. You sound like a kid.
It's like telling a visitor to leave your house but you still use his stove to prepare your daily meals... Don't be silly!

Oga tribalist IPOBian, there is no place for a divisive creature of hate like you here. Watch the video below to know those who live there.

Will this be allowed in any other modern city in the world? Lagos administrators are solely responsible for the mess Lagos is in.

In my opinion the "clean up" of Lagos should first tackle the deportation of worthless tribalist IPOBians like you back to your SE State of origin.

It's not only new arrivals in Lagos that live in shanties. Some people fell on hard times, others are rendered homeless by circumstance and move to these slums because it's all they can afford.

One despatch rider in a place I used to work lived in a shanty, was going to polytechnic at weekends and had a wife and child. He eventually took office loan and got a room in a better hood near satellite town

There should be a 'social net' of some sort in place to catch those genuine cases and prevent them hitting rock bottom.

That should be for Lagos to try and provide. The fact remains though that too many people are still arriving Lagos from everywhere with no idea where they will live or how they will make money to look after themselves and posiibly dependents. That should stop.

People like you are a disgrace and no better an animal than the worst leaders you attack daily.

Should anyone live as we see below in Lagos? If not for the slackness of Lagos administration, should what we see below be a part of Lagos in 2020?

What is wrong with some of you and why must you taint everything with your personal bitterness, anger and frustration at things/people you

You're the kid actually with thinking more immature than my youngest child. What resources Oga? Nigeria is still a nation with an active constitution that mandates how all resources within the border of the nation is to be utilized.

There is already 13% derivation for oil/gas producing States with further billions provided for NDDC and the likes to improve the lot of the SS.

You lot focus less on that, and your "slave aster" leaders looting you to a stupor, to begin talking retardedly as if you do the SW a favour or as if you give us anything we don't have considering Ondo donates appreciable contribution of oil too.

I don't know why you Igbos like talking in denial of all that reality. My only conclusion is that you guys are naturally lawless and have never felt that the law applies to you.

You empty and shameless megalomaniac rather delude yourself you "feed" and "develop" others who happen to be miles ahead of you and better by all indices of socio-economic and human development.

If you all leave the SW and all parts of Nigeria to relocate to the SE, and stay there, then Nigeria will grant you your Biafra asap.

To me all you Igbos do is give insincere excuses when challenged to return home even when it is obvious to a 4 year old child that Biafra can only be. Actualized when Igbos physically and geographically commit to it's birth.

Very correct. Its that lack of a social safety net that makes crime so rampant. These shanties have always been there but it has become more common now in Lagos and Abuja because rising poverty. Jakande was the only governor of Lagos to try and create houses for the poor. The rest have wanted it to be elitist

People will always migrate to cities for better opportunities . That's the world of today for you. In the olden days I would have been in a forest in my village hunting antelope or learning how to make Iron ore into farming tools.

No. I just have some experience with the corruption in Lagos State town planning and building consent offices via my own private business efforts.

They are terrible and can sell their mothers for money. The corruption is endemic and scary even though it is improving and somewhat better than obtained even 10 years ago thanks largely to the online automation of some processes.

You can make all the noise you want but the chap you insult, and his children, will always have the automatic chance, as first class Yoruba owners of Lagos, to gain leadership and/or public office you and your children cannot.

That's how it is all over Nigeria. Including your SE where Igbos are also still the first class controllers and most entitled citizens of the State in the region. No Yoruba is dragging with any Igbo in ala Igbo.

Therefore stop insulting others with your silly entitlement bullcrap you need to go and browbeat your Anambra or Abia relatives with.

Money-miss-road miscreant. Igbos are not the only ethnic group in Lagos and you should learn to respect the ethnic ownership of the State as others do.
