I'd be highly interested in knowing what the ritual signifies (if it has any spiritual import at all)

Chinhoyi — A catchy welcome insignia, with a scantily dressed witch skillfully gliding on a broom, announced every visitor the arrival to the small town of Karoi.

In recent years, Karoi became famed for a jay-walking he-goat, who so loved women and work that he chased after our female kind and escorted them to and from work.

The he-goat believed by many to have been bestowed with a curse of an avenging spirit, would leave Chikangwe Township at 7am and walk along with women to work in the town centre and walk back to Chikangwe township after 5pm.

While people worked in town, he would forage the bins and scrounge for any food.

He died in 2007 after a freak accident with a bus.

The same stretch of road, was last week another scene of the strange and unthinkable.

A man was offered a lift as a token of appreciation for helping a stranded female motorist but got the shock of his life when he was shown a massive snake at the back seat of the car before being ordered to be intimate with her.

The 24-year-old man, who cannot be named for professional reasons, was going to his Chikangwe home from Chikangwe Sports Bar that Tuesday night at around 9pm when he saw the woman believed to be in her early 30s attending to her car on the roadside.

Mashonaland West police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara confirmed the incident adding that there were no leads so far.

"The woman had her bonnet open and she asked him to help attend to the vehicle.

"She was scrubbing the terminals of the battery and he agreed to help her," he said.

After a while she started the vehicle and it responded before she offered him a lift to his home as a token of appreciation for assisting her.

They drove for a short distance before he started feeling hot and tried to open the windows but in vain.

He asked the woman to open the windows for him, but she shocked him when she immediately applied brakes and stopped before asking him if he was brave.

The bewildered man then asked what she meant by that before he got the shock of his life when she asked him to look at the backseat where upon looking he saw a very large brownish grey snake.

It reportedly covered the whole backseat and extending to the driver's seat.

"The head and tail of the snake could not be seen.

"He could only see that the snake was breathing," he said.

Realising that he had panicked, she made a hasty turn and drove off towards Chikangwe bus terminus where she parked her vehicle - a tinted white Honda model - she immediately undressed from the waist down.

She ordered him to be intimate with her.

He reportedly noticed tattoos on her thighs and another dragon tattoo on the naval area.

They were intimate once before she thanked him for the service and warned him against telling anyone that night.

"He was warned against telling anyone for that night or risked death," he said.

The woman told him to get out of the vehicle and drove off while still naked.

The man made a report at Karoi Police Station the following day and went to the hospital for a check-up.

Inspector Mabgweazara urged people to be wary and avoid using private vehicles and expressed concern at the increase in cases of men who were being raped, especially after being offered lifts.

Whether this is true or false, there have been myths and mystery over the past year, since men started reporting about women raping them, especially after being offered lifts.

Whatever has caused the upsurge of these matters, the country will find out.

This country has since early last year, received nine such cases and for those who do not believe in the incidents, the question is why are these men reporting fake cases of abuse?

There have been arguments that once one such story is reported, many people want to report similar cases, yet another question remains as to what that person will benefit from reporting fake incidents.

But what makes it interesting is that among the men who have been abused by the women are police officers.

In all the cases, the victims remain anonymous and no one has been arrested.

That the incidents have been reported in Guruve, Lalapanzi, Bulawayo, Karoi, Norton and Harare makes the issue widespread in terms of the area covered.

Also that the methodology changes with each situation, makes it an interesting puzzle.

Or rather is it a campaign to tarnish the image of women, whose meteoric rise to positions of power in later day Zimbabwe has left many men puzzled?

Others believe it is a tell-tale, a story told by people who want to enjoy fame, but at whose expense?

Whatever the case might be, Zimbabwe must get to the bottom of this matter and say who is fooling who or what is happening to our country.

not a religious major or whatever. Though not sure of the credibility of the happenings, one can't really put anything past the devil. It looks like and smells like his work. Devil's goal is to mar God's plans, he'll do it anyway anyhow. Satan tries to humiliate, debase man. He'll either possess man and make him act below his dignity/status like an animal, he can make man mad or act mad or mess with his senses, and he'll use anything (money, poverty, drugs, alcohol, sex, music anything).
The case of the man/men above is the similar popular case of spirit husband/wife. These men's psychology is going to be definitely messed up for a while if not permanently. Fear has been instilled, fornication committed one way or the other, bad dreams may trail, and what is referred to as destiny may have been tampered with. That's why it's important to be always protected against the devil, led by God's Spirit, and filled with God's knowledge, and circumspect.
