Hi Guys.
Here we can discuss news and ideas about the African Continental Free Trade Area.

For Those who don't know, the AFCFTA started the beginning of 2021.
What this means is that you can now manufacture your products ANYWHERE in Africa and Sell them ANYWHERE in Africa.

You can also rent a Home anywhere in Africa and escape Nigeria wink

The combined GDP of Africa is around $3,000,000,000,000 with a population of 1.2 Billion.
Nigeria's population is 200Million with GDP of $500Billion.

Lets Discuss how the Free Trade Area can better the lives of Black Africa!

Op, just like that, no process to pass, when you want to do business or relocate to another African country?
There must be paper work involved and some little hurdles to cross, yet you made it look as though nothing will be required.
Please add more details, I'm elated at the news though.

I actually quite like the idea of this thread and I like the idea of AFCTFA in general but the project doesn’t matter if the infrastructure to connect the nations isn’t in place, we need cross border roads and railways to make sure that people and goods are quickly and efficiently taking across the borders, sadly Nigeria which should have regional dominance in AFCTFA but we don’t have constant power for manufacturing and we don’t have the necessary infrastructure for proper and effective trade.

Welcome development! Like someone said up, we need to break down plenty barriers, if it can achieve even 40% of the EU achievement so far in the first 10yrs that will be a big milestone. This is a task for new generation African leaders, those less susceptible to primordial element of religion and tribe. I hope a unified currency is on the pipe line.

All very true we first need to build up infrastructure and then we need to our policies in place concerning tariffs on certain products, we need to have a wah t make sure that the market is not flooded with foreign products through our ports, scanning systems could be out in place, all local African goods should be put onto a registry and it can be scanned if it is found to be foreign or substandard they can dispose of the good and impound the importer of the said product

Concerning a common currency that won’t be able to happen until we are able to get rid of the west and Central African francs which are all controlled by France for this to properly work these nations need to get rid of French influence, and that will take a lot longer then 10 years, proper implementation for this project likely won’t happen until we get strong leaders who are able to fight back against imperialism
