1. Pride is based on self love (Prov 6:16-19).

2. Be careful of self promotion. Pride will get you in trouble faster than any thing.

3. People do things most times not just for material gains, but for recognition.

4. The devil (Isa 14:12-15). Boasting and proudful. What else? He was trying to take what he didn’t worked for. That’s why he got kicked out for his rebellious attitude. That’s covetousness. “I deserve this or I deserve that.” It’s self love.

5. Pride is not about how you see yourself, its about how God sees you.

6. (Prov 13:10) only by pride cometh contention. The proud don’t know facts, even if they know, they wont accept it. They don’t care about what God says.

8. You accomplished something is because the Lord gave you the ability to accomplish that, not because you’re smart or something. God will not share His glory. (E.g. If you build a table with a hammer, will you give credit to the hammer or yourself?). Pride is taking credit for something you didn’t do. You’re simply a tool that God used if its God that’s actually using you.

9. A young man is like an oak tree. When the storm comes, it uproots it. But the palm tree only bends because it has enough sense to bend with the wind.
