Nigerians who have spent many years living in the USA or EU, often return to Nigeria with a giant chip on their shoulders, and a sense of inflated self-importance that they feel entitles them to confront authority figures, the government and its agents, forgetting that such boldness often places them on a short-cut path to jail or worse.

Perhaps it is the racism that ALL back people encounter in the USA and Europe, about which they can do absolutely nothing, that fills Nigerian immigrants in foreign lands with a determination never to assume an obedient stance to authority once they have returned to Nigeria, because, in their reasoning, they are returning to a land governed by fellow blacks, who they feel should not be able to relegate any black person to the status of a second-class citizen, as is the fate of ALL black men living in nations governed by white people.

This sense of entitlement to defy agents of constituted power, so cherished in the hearts of returning immigrants, has led to the downfall of many, by way of summary incarceration after "show" court trials, or no court trials. For other less fortunate returning immigrants to Africa, that defiant impulse to speak out against the government while feeling protected by the dual citizenship to which they lay claim, culminated in their "mysterious" deaths during police custody, or in professionally executed ambushes.

Mr. Sowore is a fine example of an African immigrant to the USA who, on return to his native country of Nigeria, foolishly arrogated himself the right to openly call for the overthrow of Nigeria's constituted federal government, via the megaphone of social media writings that are accessible to the whole world. Now we see Mr. Sowore behind bars, looking defiant but subdued, as the enormity of his misfortune for being too outspoken of a government critic, slowly dawns on him.

Nigerians currently living in the USA and Europe, who may be nursing nostalgic ambitions of triumphal return to their ancestral homeland of Nigeria as heroic and fearless change-makers, would do well to observe the unfolding fate of AMERIKANA Sowore, whose many years living in the USA as a free citizen, did NOT bestow impunity from swift and brutal retribution, when, on return to Nigeria, he dared challenge the might of the Federal Republic whose president happens to be a retired military general well known for brooking NO dissent.

In short, other AMERIKANA Nigerians, MUST remember that the Golden Rule applies WORLDWIDE : " He who has the gold, makes the rules". Anyone who goes out of their way to test this adage, does so at their own peril. When in Rome, conduct thine self as the Romans, and NOT as another arrogant AMERIKANA "influencer". Failure to follow this simple wisdom, is what put Mr. Sowore where he is at the moment- in JAIL.

This particular picture was actually taken at the back door of Iya Modina's Bookateria eatery, when Sowore tried to slip away after forgetting to pay for a meal of bush meat, pounded yam, and Gulder beer. Our presidential candidate has since paid his bill, and been released on bail, with a stern warning never to try that chit again.

All these insults on Sowore, an activist before some of you got into secondary schools, just because he opposed OBJ, Yar'Adua, Jonathan and Buhari.

They want to break him and use clueless Nigerians to do it. But then, this is how they ridiculed Soyinka, Tai Solarin, Gani Fawehinmi, Falana, Agbakoba and more.

They are sending subtle message that they only want Looters, Army, Militia and Vagabonds in Power.
