Hongkog:you really believe that trump would even be a president in the first place without Illuminati control? There is a reason why America has just two major parties Democrats and Republican that dictates who should join primaries and emerge |

Finally someone that has sense. They have come for Trump because of their hidden agenda and fear of him, soon governments will ride on this and come for all these educated illiterates and bitter souls who see nothing wrong in what Twitter et al are doing 4 Likes |

12inchess: Thanks for that bit of history. Trump exposed the hypocrisy of the West. During the Endsars protest, you have to see the ways the Western leaders were poking their nose into our affairs. What they couldn't accept they were advising us to do it. I saw Hillary, Biden and others urging our youths to their destruction. Nigeria is not perfect but we will get there. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hongkog:Truth be told Trump encouraged violence. His video was pure incitement. Sending those radical right wing racists groups like Proud Boys et al to the capitol was for what? A Tea Party? If you like or admire Trump and his leadership style, that's fine it's your life and right to do so. However, you must also be responsible enough to admit it when he crosses the line. 6 persons are dead,! 6 American citizens as as result of Trump insurrection! Who will be held accountable? Me? "Let us March to the capital and fight, fight fight,. ...get our country back" . They did just that. So you don't blame him? For real? I'm stunned. 2 Likes |

There is no fundamental right to freedom of speech on a private platform. Just as there's no fundamental right to service at a restaurant if they find you abusive. Private entities can decide what is appropriate on their platforms, and every user agrees to the terms and conditions before they are allowed to access the platform. If and when the guidelines are violated, your account can be terminated. I think people are conflating the guaranteed rights to free speech - as in the government will place no restrictions on it - with the decision to be an idiot. 3 Likes |

Bluntemperor: The suspension of his account is okay however, closing his account totally is a no-no. While it is understandable to say they don't want their platform used for such, the signal here shouldn't be overlooked. |

You are absolutely correct.... Twitter is political now even dough Trump madness and problem is too much. I think Twitter need to create a committee for doing such and highlight how to over turn the ban. Twitter should just take it easy ooo |

Jahwinaboy:Twitter would be the least of Trump's worries after he completes his term. The amount of lawsuit that would come his way, and the manner in which friends/associates/businesses will dump him will be out of this world. *In Trump's voice* The likes of which we have never seen before.

In the case where the president has lost his sense of reasoning, the social media giants have responsibility to avert civil war in america. Its only trump that kind of step can affect. Anybody that ban buhari from social media, must be a joker. He does not even need it. 2 Likes |

12inchess: You're right about we needing to understand our own history and not believe what we've been spoonfed. However, I need to respond to the comparisons you made between EndSars and this terrorist act. There's a BIG difference between the people petitioning their government via protest, and the people invading the seat of government. There's a BIG difference between organizing a peaceful protest against maltreatment by government officials, and a President actively encouraging an insurrection to harm the country and its officials. Please don't conflate the two. As we all know, EndSARS was remarkably peaceful for weeks, inspite of its size. It turned violent towards the end when some elements decided to become lawless, and when the Army decided to start shooting innocent people. The fundamental approach of these protest were peaceful, with a positive goal (end brutality). I'm focusing on the goal (and not on the unfortunate turn of events). Even with the violence, so many people remained peaceful, and social media was filled with messages and skits to not loot, to be peaceful, to stay focused on the message. There were many, but the ones by Mr. Macaroni and Brother Shaggi immediately come to mind. I wouldn't have have made sense for twitter and youtube to ban these messages. We also see parallels with the Black Lives Matter protests in the US. On the other hand, the US President incited an insurrection whose end goal was instability and an unprecedented aim of disenfranchising millions of voters by Unconstitutional means. What makes this particularly dangerous is this was done by someone with remarkable sway over his followers, someone who swore to protect the Union and its Constitution. Nowhere before, during, nor immediately after the armed insurrection was there call for peace (I'm assuming the President's cabinet threatened his removal if he didn't). Can you imagine if an enemy of America casually joined the insurrection with a suicide vest or two? This was quite dangerous and allowing the instigator to keep fanning the flames would be unwise, despite that he is the US president. Furthermore, freedom of speech refers only to the fact that a government will not restrict the speech of its citizens. It does not apply to private entities - for instance, a restaurant can kick out a patron who was "exercising their right to freedom of speech" by abusing the staff, and the courts will side with the restaurant. Users agree to a platform's terms and conditions, and are liable to get kicked off when they violate the agreement they signed on to. It also is a good thing that America is the kind of country where even the President can be banned or censured by private entities should they prove dangerous - that's the point of the various checks and balances that have kept this Republic alive for over 243 years without descending into a dictatorship. We should celebrate this ban. 2 Likes 1 Share |
