With the increase in cases, i wish to renew my call for a Total lockdown.

Schools should remain shut.
All markets, churches should remain shut.

Airports should be shutdown now.

All industries should be shutdown.

Everyone should remain indoors while the federal govt should deploy the military.

The total lockdown should be for 8weeks.

American, UK, Canada, china, Italy, West Germany, France, Spain are all on Total lockdown.

We must implement same now in Nigeria.

May God heal our land.

I need much AMEN

The government will love to do these but our economy wouldn't allow them. Any lockdown now will be devastating on the common man since palliatives can't go round and govt can't even afford it.

So we will know if they really died of COVID-19 or maybe some terminal ailmemt.

Oga. Viral infections can lead to terminal ailments. Any death will ultimately result from organ failure and viruses kill by either overloading the system thereby causing a vicious auto immune response or overwhelming the body's defenses so that organs donot receive the right nutrients (supplies, in a layman's term) at the right time and in sufficient quantity.

In a nutshell viruses speed up your death. So you can doubt all you like. If you catch the Covid 19 virus today your lifespan is under threat whether you are symptomatic or not. Research is still ongoing as to the long term consequences of exposure.

My dear, the figures are grossly unreported. This thing is spreading like wildfire and killing seriously. Everyday now I receive reports of deaths through medical sources not affiliated to government so I cannot dispute their claims. It is certain we are faced with a different strain some tests are not picking up and so misdiagnoses is the big problem today.

The problem of goverment appears to be one of resources as it appears they are not able to sustain the impetus of the initial outbreak probably because the framework for their actions was artificial and most likely overloaded. And they have not been able to develop and industry around containing this virus rather depending on task forces which are expensive to maintain.

By now the private sector should have been deeply embedded in this fight but the government wants it all and are now found wanting. The only thing that can prevent a total catastrophe in Nigeria is immunization. But can they do it fast enough before the virus mutates again.

Shut up!
If 1,083 discharged from 1,270 cases does not tell you that the recovery rate of the disease in Nigeria is above 90%, it means you need help. The 12 that died are as a result of other complications.

The fight is a fight of all but the problem still lies in the fact that most people don't believe it is real.
China is a communist country devoid of any form of bureaucracy, rules and policies are easily passed, that is why they were able to handle it with fast and furious attempt...
Other countries have some reserved to cater for exigencies....
As far as Nigeria is concerned, the government are broke "economically' and that is why they can't declare total lockdown.

Nonsense talk. That's the only state with steady revenue since this COVID-19 nonsense. No one is complaining of having Corona there or dying. He is doing what every governor should do

Oga please help me tell the people that want to lock down the country please. They dont want to use their brain just fear porn. More or same number of people died from road related issues last quarter than the whole of last year coro death but we must shutdown the country. more people are obviously still dying from malaria but those deaths dont count anyway "Malaria deaths reduced from about 400 000 in 2010 to about 260 000 in 2018, the largest reduction being in Nigeria, from almost 153 000 deaths in 2010 to about 95 000 deaths in 2018." https://www.who.int/news-room/feature-stories/detail/world-malaria-report-2019

I hear they say it doesnt have a cure but look at the number of discharged its a massive success from a country with a health system on life support, health care system that is rated as those in war time condition but have more success than those of who we are copying their style of lockdown. What are they using to treat them since it doesnt have are cure. Is it Agbo or bi na mixture dem dey use ni.

Coro is real but not this fear people are spreading it wrong and bad. stay safe
alexistaiwo:
Bad roads, Banditry and Terrorism have killed more Nigerians this year alone than what Corona killed since the very first outbreak in Nigeria and I don't see any call for lockdown to deal with terrorism so why lockdown for a virus our so called health practitioners cannot develop a local vaccine for.

Or should we halt our daily activities till the cure is found?
Lockdown has never been the solution.

This is a natural selection process, humans will always evolve to find a way through.

I agree with everything you mentioned.... but does than mean that every death as a result of organ failure is because of the virus?... as in if it weren't for the virus the person would still be alive?... even if the person tested positive?
People always died of organ failure..... heart failure... kidney failure etc... why now such deaths are attributed to COVID-19? From experience.... if COVID19 overwhelms your systems .... it will be clear as day.... it is not a silent killer as they are making it out to be by using the term asymptomatic. it's like saying a person died of asthma but showed no signs. You have an asthma attack... it will be as clear as day. COVID-19 is no different. Been there... experienced that.
