The Jews never had any king since the last after exiled to Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar. The reigning king in Jerusalem during His birth was an Edomite. in Jeremiah's prophecy it was stated that Jeconiah would be the last king from David's dynasty. So, those who wanted to make Him king, or wrote on his cross knew this. Fact of history.

I'm not sure how this question even arises. All the Gospels are clear that Jesus is the Son of David. Both Matthew and Luke provide evidence of this, with Matthew tracing Jesus's lineage through Joseph, his stepfather, and Luke tracing it through Mary. As the physical descendant of David, Jesus was the rightful heir to David's Throne.

By the way, His response was "It is as you say" (i.e. So you say) I just love the John 18:33-34 battle of wits. No doubt Pilate isnt a match

A king is a Person who people obey or feel bound to obey thus, once the Jews started to listen Him, it was foreseeable by the Pharisees and all that they would obey Him, hence, Christ became their King in their souls.

The only reason you asked this question was because you have a worldly idea of what describes a king, and those things that they were often associated with. The throne, royal crown, palace, royal robe, servants, chariots, wives, concubines etc.

That was a major reason the Jews missed it completely because God didn't dress up King Jesus in the same way that those of this world would dress up theirs. And that was deliberate. To sift the tares from the wheat.

Hence to understand how Jesus was the King of the Jews, you must needs swap that idea of men, for what it means to be a King in God's sight.

This was what the wise men from the east did, hence their coming all the way down from the east and bowing down in worship of Baby Jesus who lay in a lowly manger in the barn of an inn, as King of the Jews despite their awareness of a sitting king Herod.

It was long foretold in the Law and the prophets of the coming of a king, hence the knowledge of the chief priests of the Jews and their scribes concerning where He was going to be born. Matthew 2:3-6.

So forget about the fake king Herod. Jesus was the real King of the Jews!

Jesus is not from anywhere as the story says he has no father. And neither the geneology in mathew and luke can produce a king.

Hmmm, try to read and understand your post before you click submit. You are displaying so much ignorance .The jews has always opperated a theocracy, God was their king. When they wanted a physical king , God gave them one and promised David thst the sceptre will not depart from judah. He also promised david that the kingship will not leave his lineage. And you and i know that geneology is only transferred from father to son. For jesus to claim kingship he has to have a fatber who is ftom that linesge. Anything other than thst is an imposter. ...jesus is not from anywhere, the story says he has no father. Spirit dont father children, there are no spirit in the kingly line. There are so many things wrong with christianity. I really dont know why you are so blind to them or you just shove them aside and suspend your intellect to believe them,why dont you search the origin of these stories and equip yourself with the knowledge. And why the romans added it to the jewish scriptures...
