It’s just one days left for the Inauguration ceremony of US President-elect Joe Biden and his Vice-President-elect, Kamala Harris to take their oath of office before Mr Biden will officially move to the White House.



What Is this Inauguration?
The Inauguration is a formal ceremony to celebrate the start of a new presidency and it will happen in Washington DC on January 20, 2020.

This is the day that the President-elect will recite the Presidential oath of office by saying “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States and to work to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Once The President-elect says that he will then be declared officially as the 46th President and this means that the inauguration has ended.

However, celebrations across the country will still progress after the swearing-in of an oath.

Kamala Harris will also become the Vice-President once she takes the oath of office. This usually happens before the Swearing of the President.



What you need to know about Biden Inauguration and How to watch?

The Presidency Inauguration has already been fixed to hold on January 20 and from what we heard, the Opening remarks will commence by 11:30 EST (16:30 GMT which is 5:30pm in Nigerian time).

This is to inform you that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be sworn in during the Mid-day.

The popular cable company, DSTV will broadcast the Inauguration live on BBC Channel 400 and CNN Channel 401.

Biden will move to White House immediately after the inauguration ceremony and he will be there for the next four years.



Which Singer Will Perform at the Inauguration Ceremony?

In recent times, incoming Presidents now invite famous singers in the country to perform for them.

Despite the fact that the country is still suffering from Coronavirus pandemic, Mr Biden and Madam Harris has joined hands to bring talented female singer, Lady Gaga.



Well, we learnt that Lady Gaga has been a great supporter to Biden during the Presidential rally.

Lady Gaga will sing the national anthem while Jennifer Lopez will also sing during the ceremony musical performance.



We also heard that shortly after the swearing-in of the new President, Tom Hanks who is a well-known actor will also host a 90-minutes of primetime television – this is what they call Covid-friendly replacement of celebrations.

Some of the things that Biden will do immediately after his Inauguration

– Biden will ensure that the US join the Paris Climate agreement again, this is a global impact on cutting the emission of carbon.

– Biden will also reserve the controversial travel ban on a list of mostly Muslim-majority countries.

– Another thing that he will do is make it a must for people to wear masks on federal property and when they want to travel out of the country in a bid to reduce to Covid-19 infections.
