Governor Sanwoolu while answering questions from the press explained why Lagos schools had to be opened. He mentioned that about 24,000 students did not return to school after the first lockdown probably because of the several months spent at home during which parents got them involved in other things than education. He also stated that child abuse thrives when children are not engaged in school.
