Bride price is a token which the groom(particularly) and his family must pay to the bride's family to have the bride as his wife. This token could be in form of money, property etc.
Most men see the bride price list as something else because some may contain a large number of expensive goods. The amount of money spent maybe huge so they may find it difficult to get and may even become financially unstable after marriage. This same Bride price is also a custom.
