A dysfunctional family is one that isn't particularly conducive for the children to grow and seems to have everyone in a relatively unsavoury mood most of the time. Having this type of family is really not the best type of thing for you and your kids because it could lead to severe levels of emotional imbalance.

More often than not, it is the fault of the wife and husband if the family isn't functioning as it should. Consequently, it is their responsibility to make sure that the family goes back to being a proper place for the growth of the children if the place is already unconducive.

But, it's not quite possible to fix a problem that you don't know is there, is it? That's why we'll be outlining signs of a dysfunctional family to you. Pay attention, chief.

1. Addiction

Addiction could rear its ugly head in many different forms. It could be alcohol addiction or drug addiction, among others. Regardless of what it is, it is a sign that things aren't particularly right in your family. If you or your wife happen to be the addicted ones, the chances are that it takes a significant toll on the children because you're not always yourself. If, on the other hand, the children are the addicted ones, this is even worse because they might be looking to escape their emotional troubles by engaging in substance abuse.
