We all know the building “Taipei 101” in Taiwan. This massive skyscraper was once the tallest building in the world when it was opened in 2004 and was making a lot of headline back then. but it was later dethroned off his throne as the world tallest building in 2009 when Burj Khalifa in Dubai was completed. And because this building was located in an area prone to seismic or earthquake activities many has wondered how was this massive structure able to withstand strong earthquake forces or wind pressure without collapsing and this question was also asked because of the shape of ‘Taipei 101’ The building is made up of 8 sections which inclined outwards in a style called the “Pagoda style” and each of these inclined sections have eight floors.
