Some people just straight up don’t like each other, but you don’t often expect them to be on the same team. That was certainly the case with former French teammates Eric Cantona and Didier Deschamps, whose feud has continued up until the present day. The enigmatic Manchester United legend once called Deschamps a “vulgar water carrier”, a moniker that has stuck to the French manager ever since, as well as a “muppet”.The pair fell out numerous times over the nineties and it’s evident the bad blood still exists. Just last week Deschamps had a defamation case against his compatriot ruled inadmissible in court. Deschamps sued Cantona after he appeared to suggest that Karim Benzema and Hatem Ben Arfa were left out of France’s Euro 2016 squad because of their African origin. The Paris court ruled that the complaint did not meet the standard for defamation. Evidently, the two men will never see eye to eye, but they’re not the only former colleagues who couldn’t get along.
