The BBC have aggregated the average scores of every player in the Premier League and have published the result of the best performers for each club.

This report was carried out with the league heading into the second half as majority of English clubs have now played 19 games with 19 more to go.

The ratings were administered by BBC users who voted at the end of every match all season using the 'BBC Sport Player Rater'.

The criterion for consideration is a minimum of “six [league] appearances for their side in 2020-21.”

With this in mind, Ademola Lookman, who is reportedly in the process of switching national allegiance to Nigeria, was voted as Fulham’s best performer this season, with an average score of 6.48.

This would count as a great show of mental strength following his failed panenka attempt against West Ham, where he could have rescued a point for his relegation-threatened side but opted to showboat. He was branded “selfish”by various media outlet as his return to England appeared destined to turn sour.

But he has since overcome his woes and was in superb form, scoring a goal, as his side unfortunately lost to Manchester United in his last outing. He currently has 3 goals and 3 assists this campaign.

Midfield maestro, Wilfred Ndidi, was also rated highly enjoying the second highest average score in the Leicester squad with an average score of 6.9, behind only to full-back, Timothy Castagne.

The 24-year-old had missed a huge chunk of the Foxes campaign with an abductor injury, but has come back to the first team stronger than before

He was rated as one of the best central midfielders and the outright best defensive midfielder in the English Premiership this season. He has backed this score by on-field statistics as he makes the most tackles+interceptions per game in the English top-flight. He also notably scored the opener last week against top side, Chelsea.

Aside Nigerians, Southampton’s Danny Ings averaged the highest league rating with a score of 7.47, with West Ham’s Michael Antonio following closely in second (7.42), while Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Southampton’s Jannik Vestergaard ranked joint third (7.33).

This meant that no player from the established big six had performed consistently enough to impress BBC users.

Arsenal’s best performer was Kieran Tierney (6),

Chelsea – Olivier Giroud (6.06),

Liverpool - Diogo Jota (6.58),

Manchester City – John stones (6.62),

Manchester United - Edinson Cavani (6.38), and

Tottenham – Son Heung-min (6.48); as all of the big boys' top performers struggled to cross the average threshold.
