The Nigerian customs in a recent news said they are awaiting the formal go ahead from the ministry of finance to begin the implementation of the reduction on the import tarrifs.

The import duty on cars and other vehicles for transportation is going down from 35% to 10% while the levy is to go down from 35% to 5%. This is a good news for those intending to own a car. Once the customs begins the implementation of the new tarrif, the cost of clearing
an imported vehicle will be greatly reduced.
Even though car dealers might not reduce the price of the cars they already have on display, it will be a smart move to start the importation process of your car if you intend to import from USA, canada or Germany
