I'm not from Ebonyi but is useless for u to ask why a state governor wants to build airport for his people to develop their place. Why was the Enugu Airport built in the first place when we already had lagos, kano, Abuja and pH airports, why shouldn't those from Enugu use it.

Besides Even Anambra and Abia deserves airport

Thank you my brother for your objective analysis. Sometimes, I wonder why people will want to offer unsolicited professional dum.b advice. Maybe they will prefer that Umahi will loot the money he is using to build the airport. What else do they want him to do when he has and is still building lots of roads, built markets and malls, hospitals etc? Or should he distribute the money to Ebonyi people since the new tactics is mocking the state for having poor people, as if Nigeria is no longer the poverty capital of the world

Ask that guy his state now, and if he wouldn't want such development, sometimes I think is plain jealousy, possibly for them to remain underdeveloped so they can use it to mock them, if u check well now the guy na their fellow Igbo oo,. The one Aregbe started in Osun that's how they were making noise osun doesn't deserve an airport

I am not hating guys.There are many factors determining the feasibility of siting of an airport.One of them is the economic viability & geographical location.

Ebonyi State is one of the poorest state in the SE with a predominant agrarian population & a bloated civil service that is taking a chunk of the state's budget even if they receive peanuts esp.in this era of economic meltdown.

Given that there is an international airport just about 40mins away in Enugu makes the one in Ai unnecessary. Most of these governors embarked on these white elephant projects to embezzle state resources & massage their ego as former governor Rauf Aregbesola did with the failed gigantic MKO Abiola International airport in Osun state.

As the one in Enugu go gree work, maybe the Ebonyi own go work. If it is possible, there should be an international airport in every local government so that Enugu own wey no gree finish go turn useless when they finally finish am. As our eastern devil's in power gathered and commissioned and incomplete airport to please their fathers in Abuja, make Dave finish him own fast so that people call easily go down to Ebonyi for their International travels. Just 30mins drive.

Most people that question why airport is build in ebonyi is not from ebonyi state.
If the governor share the money to civil servant and his political Allies you still be the one to mock the governor and his core.
Let me bring it to your knowledge that ebonyi need airport as alternative to akanu ibiam airport. It's the closure of enugu airport some months ago that breed more knowledge to build ebonyi airport as alternative. Besides ebonyi been poor state is not the fault of state government. Poverty is a state of mind. you can't expect government to be sharing money to masses just because the state is labeled one of the poorest state in the nation.
Nigeria as nation is poverty capital in the world.
What the government owe to the masses is to create enabling environment for business to strive, which governor of ebonyi is doing in all means.
The airport will create jobs, ebonyi shopping mall will create thousands of jobs and development
