To those Igbos who say they do not need political power ;Dcounsel you to research the competition between Ibeto cement and Dangote cement. Lack of political power destroyed Ibeto. Access to political power promoted Dangote to the extent that Nigeria’s borders were opened for him and shut for everyone else [/b]No amount of money is enough if you have no political power!

With one stroke of the pen, the man with political power can eradicate your economic power. He can ban your businesses. He can overtax your sector. He can deny you airports, seaports, and security.

Do not be blinded by money. After God, it is government. Why do you think that despite all their hard work and ingenuity, no Igbo is amongst the 10 richest Africans, according to Forbes?

Abacha used his political power to give General TY Danjuma an oil bloc. Danjuma sold it for $1.5 billion. Folorunsho Alakija was awarded an oil bloc by government, today she‘s the world’s richest Black woman.

Igbos need political power because as Aristotle said, man, by nature, is a political animal.

Reno seems really obsessed with igbo people. Somebody should please tell him that what igbos want is Biafra, and not what Reno wants for them.

In other words, political power is all about protecting sectional interests rather than national interests? I agree with Reno in some things and disagree with him in others. This one I disagree with him. If Igbos should get involved in politics to protect Igbo interests, if Yoruba should be involved in politics to protect Yoruba interests, if Hausa/Fulani should be in politics to protect their interests, who then is in politics to protect Nigerias interests?

Where then is this 'one Nigeria' we keep trumpeting? If the different sections if Nigeria should be seeking political power to protect themselves from each other, then what is the point of Nigeria? What it means is that we dont trust each other, we are suspicious of one another and we are not a nation.

So why are we together? To be fighting each other forever? Whats the point?

Its time for Nigerians to accept that we are nothing but a failed British colonial experiment. It is time to hold a referendum and allow the indigenous people who were brought together by Britain, to decide if they want to carry on being together.

I am tempted to ask him if they have not embraced politics before now. If only you know how crafty politics of today is. Disunity is what takes us back.

Now with above comment
I can attest that Nigeria democracy is dead
So igbos should enter into politics to use it against Dangote or other tribes as a reprisalof what they did to igbos

This lgbo vs all Nigerians is the forefront of little or no peace and unity in Nigeria.

Lack Lack, fairness, justices and injustices are killing Nigeria deeper then you thought.

Nigeria should reduce their anti igbo movement.
One vs 10 is too much.

Reno should understand better.

Truth is u can't play politics with people who envy you that's the truth

Orji uzo kalu was the richest man in Nigeria by 1999 ..he joined politics what happened ?

The only time Nigerians agree is when it's time to marginalize or harm Igbos

Imagine if Igbos were in yoruba bushes Killing and reping their women ... would they have handled it they way they are handling it today ?

Imagine if Igbos where the ones killing people all over like fulanis would they be treated like fulanis ,?

You will still wake up this morning as a Nigerian.
Stop deceiving yourself because Biafra ceased to exist since 1970 and Eastern Region is now defunct you can't bring them back.

Reno is wrong on this one.Nigeria needs Igbos far much than Igbos need Nigeria.A region that rose up to be self reliance after a mere £20 post civil war so called economic empowerment from the Nigerian government?

Meanwhile, what meaningful development has the Nigerian state sustained or acquired since July-1966 of forced or domineering leadership by the feudal lords till date? Let the Igbos gain self independence from this false contraption of an entity first.

So non participation in politics will give you independence?
Don't allow scammers masquerading as secessionists to deceive you.

And how has forcefully acquiring political power by the nozzle of the gun & imposing a defective constitution helped the course of the northern military clique & their region since they have been holding this nation to ransome post-July 1966?

Are they free from abject poverty, stark illiteracy, child abuse/marriage, fanatic terrorism/religion intolerance,
corruption and all the ills of misgovernance and human development?

Did former USSR played politics before its self disintegration? What about Yugoslavia-Bosnia? Guess Sudan became tired of South Sudan agitations hence allowed their referendum & eventual parting ways? Even nature itself knows how to take care of business.Nigeria will self disintegrate.Watch it happen.

South Sudan fought 30 years war we ain't going that rout.
The collapse of USSR and Yugoslavia was a collective decision of the federation and no region in that country adopted this naive non political participation as a strategy.
