A Nigerian lady has narrated how she confronted some men who sexually harassed her for wearing a bum short while passing through a market.

According to @lekpashawtie, the men wanted to get physical after she kept slapping them for touching her butt. She further revealed that she didn't go into the market but only passed through it to her destination.

My dear naija Neva reach that level where u will dress like that in the public.

May be u did it for research purposes gathering information.

Dress the way you want people to address you. Those idiots saw you as an irresponsible person, hence the embarrassment you got. If you had dressed nicely, you will hear the same people calling you ma'am, ma'am up and down..

Learn to dress well, and stop putting on kids clothing, all in the name of bum shorts and crop tops.. This is Africa and not a western country..

Just like we are allowed to do or wear what we like, we should also do well to know the importance and essence of "Responsibility".

You can't leave your door open at night for robbers and expect them not to come for you simply because it's your choice to leave the door open.

You can't stroll through the forest of Sambisa filled with Boko haram terrorists and expect them not to come for you simply because you have the right.

You can't carry a dreadlock, tattoos, percing and weed to job interview and expect them not to disqualify you simply because you have the right.

You just dare not wear revealing cloths to the house of worship[Church/Mosque] and expect them not to bounce you out simply because it's your right.

All I'm trying to say is that some embarrassment and harassment are avoidable. You'll only understand this post if you have common sense.

She say she no wor enter market again......

Though I think this woman is sensible...but you can't put on seductive clothes to a general gathering like a market and don't expect people to have a look..... Especially in Nigerian markets where the insane people exceeds the sane and Right thinking people....Some might even wanna touch and feel it.....

She get luck say Dem no even rape her

In one word, you're living in a crude country where the majority of men are uneducated and unenlightened.the few educated or enlightened ones are still stuck up in their unrefined patriarchal ways.moreover Nigerians are used to oppression and harassment.they always take advantage of any opportunity to exploit anyone they know they can get away with .for example look at the end SARS protest, even freedom fighters were blamed and insulted for defending the oppressed.intrestingly even the oppressed too were part of those in the insult so please live with the consciousness that the number of reasonable people around you are few if not how can you be arguing with someone justifying rape or murder on nairaland? Do you think he'll see anything wrong in harassing you for wearing bum shots if he was outside the Social Media space?

Sex starved and vulgar illiterates full market and they saw someone wearing what they can use as an excuse to sexually harass you so what do you expect?

Am I justifying sexual harassment? Absolutely not but when you're walking around or passing by people who don't think like you,who minding their buisness is foreign to them, who are not exposed to what you are exposed to,who can never see abnormalities in sexually harassing a lady they don't know, then wear what will not make you noticed.there are a lot of perverted men, predators and disgusting men in the market and it's not written on the forehead so wear something that will not make you an object for their lewd harassment.in addition to that if kasala burst you know you're in a country that doesn't give a Fok About you, will protect you or defend you from wicked and unreasonable men.abi how many victims of rape, murder, kidnap etc get justice?so don't put yourself in a position to be abused or harassed

Please...

Even ladies who have cars dress better, so you dressed like that jumping bus entering keke... Everyone from your house to the market saw you like that, I am still trying to understand why you are complaining... You dressed half naked. Even those cheap prostitutes know when to wear clothes and when not to
