The new service chiefs have arrived Maiduguri, the Borno State capital to meet with critical stakeholders to brainstorm on how to tackle insurgency in the theatre of war.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Leo Irabor led the delegation to arrive at the headquarters of Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri on Sunday afternoon at about 1330 hours.

Daily Trust correspondent in Maiduguri witnessed the arrival of an aircraft carrying the service chiefs.

They include the Chief of Defence Staff, Maj. General Leo Irabor; Chief of Army Staff, Maj. General Ibrahim Attahiru; Chief of Naval Staff, AVM Awwal Gambo and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao.

A top security source said the visit is expected to brainstorming on how to re-strategise approach that will ensure lasting peace in the region.

The service chiefs were appointed this week to replace the ousted service chiefs, whose sack had long been called for.

Good news.

The reality is this boko haram and iswap have been defeated. What we have on ground now is splinter groups with different leaders creating trouble in the north east region.

I trust our military men, they will do the needed job and destroy these various groups.

What Nigerian soldiers are fighting is unconventional walfare but it has been minimised to a point where the groups cant perform at their full capacity

That was the same way buratai claimed he went to maiduguri when they appointed him, he even said he was relocating army headquarters to maiduguri, somehow I don't know how it happened that after 4 years we all found out that Buratai has been sleeping inside DHQ in abuja after jogging and disturbing everybody with snake, while shekau was actually the chief of army staff that relocated to maiduguri for 4 solid years, I hope these guys are not trying to deceive us again...
