As na Okowa side, na government go put hand. But some low-key men dem get farms for there too.

Government 65%, individuals 35%

But the individual own na just for food, not for sale

With all due respect to Governor Udom, as an agriculture major, I believe this is a project doomed to fail. First of all, Akwa Ibom is a core rainfall prone state, which doesn't let onions perform comparatively well. Likewise, planting it in a controlled environment greenhouse makes the possibility of failure more obvious.
It will take a lot of electricity and technical know-how to make the project successful. These are lacking in the state.
It would have been better if they invested in snails farming like Ekiti State. They wouldn't need expensive materials to guarantee success. Anyway whatever makes budget swell these days are great ideas for Nigerian governors.

The rate of poverty in that state is the highest after zamfara, borno etc
I remain unimpressed at how people like OP stoop so low to publish mediocre news in exchange for peanuts.
Same way their govt sold out Exploration and Production rights to Exxon Mobil for 100 years
Illiteracy & Mediocrity grin cheesy cheesy grin

Is their land fertile enough to make a good produce?
their land is not fertile, because they hardly have rain and there are close to Sahara desert

Great move. In Cameroon( not Douala or Yaoundé), agriculture is a big thing here and food is cheaper.....If not for its currency's value, I will say they are doing better ( but in these places weather is cold).
Almost 24/7 light. Their local rice is the best in Central Africa. Their imported rice is even cheaper in cups( 2 milk cup gives 1 derica rice and 64 dericas+ gives 1 50kg bag of rice),than as bag 21,000-22000 cfa. Soya beans, groundnuts ( when cooked lije beans with palm oil inside)very sweet and sold massively in big sacks ( you buy the quantity you want).....It is well with Nigeria
