Oga why not cut off the head of that highly venomous serpent before touching or playing with it?
Gaboon viper is as venomous as the black mamba. A bite can kill a full grown man in less than 30mins.
Chai!!!

Never compare black mamba with Gaboon viper. By the way did you just say 30 minutes. Gaboon viper bite is instant death ok. Once the shot toughes blood the person is gone.

The gaboon viper is a very tolerant snake and slow to anger, it takes extra effort to retaliate but when they do, its swift and deadly! That's why the handler is playing with it anyhow If it was mamba and the likes, they for don dey plan pesin funeral ....

by ignorant people
Gaboon viper has rectangular marks and they are different in the way they attack. Gaboon viper will generally not disturb you unless you disturb it wheras Puff adder is very temperamental. Gaboon viper will bite you and hold on to you till you are dead, Puff Adder will strike you multiple times.

so no they are different snakes and knowing the difference may be the difference between life and death.

Hmmm
Thanks for the info. But are they same in colour ??

Even after cutting the head you have to bury or burn it. Many people have been bitten hours after they thought they have killed this specie of snake.
