I have noticed some Gospel musician trying to infuse the beats and style of worldly music's into their songs which of cause is ungodly. You listen to some Gospel and ask yourself is this really a Gospel song. So let's all be careful on the types of Songs we listen to, as some so called Gospel songs can pollute you spiritually. Some of this so called Gospel musician have left their true calling and have started pursuing something else some money, some fame and you know when God doesn't supports something he'll try to corrwct you but if you dont yield he will lwave you to your own, Some of them are in one form of cults or another because of fame and if you listen to their song no matter how Gospel you think it may sound "Heaven does not recognise it". Some of this Gospel songs have been dedicated to the devil and once you sing it you're praising the devil and not God. Some trusted Gospel musicians have gone deeply into the occult so are they the kind of people you will sing their song. You may be thinking how will I know Ask the Holy Ghost to pinpoint such songs to you and I want you to know that the fact that the Name Jesus is mentioned in a song does not make it Gospel (as the agent of the devil may appear as the angel of the night.

Good morning to you all

Define worldly......

Also, if a song should be judged based on the lifestyle of the singer, then there are no gospel songs, BECAUSE EVERYONE SINS.... just differently.

The idea of music and the beats is to pleasure the soul and or stimulate certain reactions in people... So hearing a "gospel" song with a party-like beat does not make it worldly abeg. Devil nor get beat... The beat no get problem, what matters is the content/message in the lyrics.

Have you seen some of the American gospel artistes whose songs some of you use to "fall under anointing"? Some smoke, drink, tatto and body piercings amongst others

Recall the knowledge of Good and Evil belongs to God. That man stole from His tree of Knowledge of Good and Evi, in the beginning, does not then ownership changed as a result. God remains the source of all information, the kind of we call evil and the kind we call good.

Just as marriage is marriage, music is music... The gospel genre, like Rap, Country, Blues, Jazz etc. were invented in the minds of men, and so will be judged by men - not God. undecided

The same Spirit of God is said to be the one and only Spirit of Inspiration meaning that all things inspired are ultimately inspired by Him. So in the case of your music, He inspires music of all genre - He favours none, since God Himself never gave a command in that aspect.

God never gave His people commandments as far as what genre of songs they can or cannot listen to. To then suggest that the Holy Spirit of God only monitors the one genre and not the others is to perpetuate a lie against God Himself. undecided

While Jesus Christ was on earth, He walked amongst the sinners, wining and dining with them even. He must have heard some of the many songs enjoyed by those who are far away from God -the sinners and unbelievers - yet not once did He see fit to condemn them or the songs they listen to. undecided

I am afraid that instead of opening one self up to realising that God does not think as we do, some have taken instead taken to boxing God up in a nice little box called the mind forgetting that by doing so, we only create idols/omages of God instead. undecided

God does not only like the things you like, hating the things that you do.... That bit is all you and has nothing to do with God, the one who created everything. Resist all urges to becoming even more close minded than you previously were and instead seek to open your mind to who God is. Jesus Christ said instructed that only those who become like Children in their thinking will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, and one thing Children are is open-minded. undecided

God loves the people of the world much as He loves us.. His Grace is after all on every living being, and so their choices, even as far as music is concerned, is just as valid as your gospel music choices. undecided

As a former musician let me say few things perhaps you'll learn one or two things from it.

Musicians are business oriented, our target is reaching more fans to boost our gain, the more our fans the greater the income.
No musician sings to propagate God's word since it doesn't sell in the entertainment industry, Jesus loves people that's why he surrendered his life for us, but despite all his wisdom and skills Jesus was hated by the majority due to God's word that's protruding from his mouth! John 15:19, 17:14
So what we have in the entertainment industry today are musicians playing games with the fans drafting towards where they will get multitude of fans, Jesus' name has become the household name (though his teachings is bitter) so most musicians are selling that name to people who wants to be identified with the name like a tag but they're not interested in his teachings. That's why most religiously inclined countries are in deep shit because they're hypocritically mimicking Jesus' name they detests his words! Matthew 7:24-27

God bless you and may you have PEACE! smiley
