Dear Potential Business Partners!

We are a structural consulting engineering company from Germany with excellent reputation. As a result of bilateral partnership and local development support we plan to build up a structural design and engineering workshop at the port in Lagos. The focus is to establish the works for the new monorail project in Lagos (Gateway City Evolution). We are specialists in bridge building and also hope to acquire some projects in that context.

This is difficult as we do not have business contacts and facilitators that we know. We are also looking for partners to set up the shop.

So here the questions (please answer honestly):
- The Nigerian Embassy in Berlin told us that Apapa is very close to Lagos and a good port location. Is this true or are there better ones?
- What is the land price in a good location in Apapa (close to port)?
- Is there attractive land for sale? (we would need about 1ha in the best industrial location)
- Can anyone also tell me if security is a problem in Apapa (expensive machinery computers in office)? Do we need own guards or would a good fence with regular police patrols suffice?
- Where can we get reliable workers? Is there a job agency?
- We are looking to hire CNC machinists (Mazak), Interpreters (good English please), Designers (AutoCAD, Catia) and Simulation Programmers (C++, own framework program). Are there any good staff available?
- Who can provide them to us? (Good salary but the people should be reliable!)
- What is required from government side to set-up a company (with about 50 staff and a budget of about 5m USD/a)? Legal expenses and extra funds required?

People that provide good information could receive a reward. We also need local advisors to start things going with the government (here it is required you provide proof that you have contacts: government and/or building sector, we will not waste our time with impostors).
