That is a state government enforcement a law against street begging. But here in the southwest, a similar law if enforced against open grazing people will begin to say it is anti fulani. |

Human traffickers and cartels force adults and children to beg. This is a major problem in Europe and Asia. I don't know if it's as rampant in African countries. But anything we can do to prevent it from becoming a problem is good. Those concerned about beggars should establish shelters, orphanages, and soup kitchens. Hire people from poor areas. Allowing begging isn't a solution. 1 Like |

Cousin9999: One red cent of mine will never fall in the palms of a beggar. Giving encourages begging. 1) I donate to charity. 2) I give tips to genuine hustlers. Northerner that was hawking weaved basket. After negotiating to N500, I paid him N750 Poor guy was carrying all that load around town in the hot sun. 1 Like 1 Share |

[quote author=helinues post=98821634] I have no problem with Kano state arresting beggars on the street. Can't the Kano government treat those beggars like repentant Boko Haram members ?[/quote perhaps u should go through the thread again... |

Arresting people that have no home and food, whom the street is their only solace, thinking you are doing them wrong; you are only doing them good as you will be the one to now feed and cloth shelter them. They should be thanking you rather for taking away their burdens. |

Senselessness is when you create poverty and still want to prevent the victim from begging for food. |

I hope hausas are seeing this double standard for themselves. Their fulani lords can arrest hausa street beggers trying to survive but can't arrest lowlive fulani terrorist herders moving cows from one place to another destroying lives and properties in the process. |
